Any one of the countries could call for invoking Article 5 on an assassination like that, then would come the test of whether other members step up and support invoking Article 5 for them.

Nope. Ukraine isn’t NATO territory, and prime ministers aren’t NATO forces.
Article 6
For the purpose of Article 5, an armed attack on one or more of the Parties is deemed to include an armed attack:
- on the territory of any of the Parties in Europe or North America . . . on the territory of Turkey or on the Islands under the jurisdiction of any of the Parties in the North Atlantic area north of the Tropic of Cancer;
- on the forces, vessels, or aircraft of any of the Parties, when in or over these territories or any other area in Europe in which occupation forces of any of the Parties were stationed on the date when the Treaty entered into force or the Mediterranean Sea or the North Atlantic area north of the Tropic of Cancer.

While the West has been critical of the current Polish Government, they realize whom is next and that in some ways this is a repeat of the Polish-Russian war from 1919 to 1921 which included much of Ukraine.
My question about this visit, is what is else is also coming with them to Ukraine, maybe a few fighter jets.
Also, what happens if Russians either shoot down any of the Prime Minsters planes or otherwise harm them while bombarding Kiev?
Right now the Russian army in Ukraine can hardly stand another nation attacking their flank. If a NATO country enters the war on the side of Ukraine, as a defensive alliance that does not mean NATO is at war with Russia.
While some of these points may seem far fetched, they are not so far fetched as to be of no concern if you are Vladimir Putin or one of his generals.

We’re starting to see more folks in US military circles and the media start to acknowledge that Russia is objectively losing the war in Ukraine. Their ability to take cities is rapidly diminishing as they lack the ability to reinforce the personnel, artillery, supplies and equipment needed. The Ukrainians are also more than a match on the ground and may actually have the advantage as the NLAWs and Javelins are deadly to Russian armor. Russia is beginning to default on its debt obligations and some in the US assess that Russia might not have more than 10 days to keep running military operations at this level.
Ukraine is now acknowledging that they are going on counter offensives, targeting RU supply lines and orphaned Russian units that had to leave the main roads. They continue to kill Russian soldiers by the dozens and take equipment. A number of captured Russian tanks have been repurposed for use by UKR.
The Russians lost their 4th general today in Mariupol. Mariupol is probably where there is something approaching urban combat, with both Russian and UKR troops in the vicinity. However, the Russians are doing things like taking hostages at hospitals and firing out of windows at UKR positions. That’s not the sign of a big offensive, but of an army perhaps on the run. The fact that the Russians lost a general in that hotly contested city suggests the Russian position is not strong.
The UKR estimates are not that far off from where the US assesses things, and most every US update on Russian casualties and damage seems to revise upwards towards the UKR number.
Another big epic fail for Putin is that Lukashenko in Belarus has announced today that Belarus will not join the war in Ukraine. Belarus hovers over much of NW UKR and Vlad had expected that the Belarussian army would invade and take the western UKS cities cutting off western supply routes and make a complete capture of UKR easy. Dissension within Belarus plus a tough minded UKR defense in the NW scared Lukashenko off. When he pulled his own Jan 6 to stay in power in 20-21, he had the support of the military and also the RU military. Now, there is dissension in the ranks and I suspect a large number of military officers would side with the pro-EU/pro-Democracy forces and oust Lukashenko.
Zelenskyy seems more and more confident that a settlement with Russia will take place. Zelensky is openly admitting that he can agree not to join NATO. Russia is asking something from Zelensky that he doesn’t have and doesn’t need. What he wants is withdrawal of all Russian forces, respect for UKR sovereignty and a clear path to the EU. He can get all of the above. The issue will be land. After all the blood that has spilled in Donetsk and the gross Russian human rights violations, I don’t think Zelensky is going to be able to give up any piece of Donetsk to Russia or to some sort of ‘independent’ republic. The fighting in Luhansk has been intense too and the Ukrainians have resisted the Russians well. Not sure that Zelensky will give up any of that either.
That leaves Crimea, and UKR may be inclined to give it up but not without major guarantees. Also, Russia really can’t get formal recognition for Crimea unless the int’l community gives it. They’re not going to give it unless there are some real guarantees w/punitive measures should Russia violate UKR’s sovereignty again.

Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott announced the death of cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski outside of Kyiv, Ukraine in a companywide memo. Zakrzewski was with Fox News correspondent Benjamin Hall — who was injured and hospitalized yesterday — when their vehicle was struck by incoming fire, according to Scott.
I wonder if Kremlin Karlson still rooting for Russia?

I think it’s a great idea, as both a demonstration of support and also showing how Russia has been unable to take control of the capital city so far. This is going to complicate things for Putin, and anything that does that is good.
