Rubio Rips Debate Over Masks | Talking Points Memo

What is it going to take to stiffen his spine?

The one they (GOP/Trump) started? Yeah whatever. These idiots politicized wearing masks and now they’re complaining about the Monster they created

Wring your hands and cry hot tears, Marco, and tell us, since you’re a smart fella, how we ever got into this mess. And while you’re thinking it over, fuck you.

It kills me how the R party has embraced no/wear while sensible folks wear masks. They’ve hung this albatross around their own necks, and it’ll look bad if they flip flop.

They did this to themselves.

Remember when clever media types pegged this guy as a future leader of a more modern, inclusive, republican party?

Now he’s flotsam. Or jetsam, can never get those straight.

My daughter as a very young child was diagnosed with Selective Mutism. She could talk but chose not to. It was rough. Part of the problem was if she did start talking, people would react, and she would lose face. This is how a four year old with an emotional disability looked at it.
Trump is like a 4 year-old with an emotional disability. He knows wearing masks is a good idea and has even said so. But if he puts that mask on in public people will notice and say things and his severely stunted emotional state can’t deal with that. My 4 year old very painfully pulled herself over that obstacle. I don’t think Trump is up to the challenge.

I’m curious: did he eat while wearing a mask at this lunch? Just askin’!

I love when Republicans attack their own atrocious behavior by lumping everyone and all behavior into it. Wearing a mask is either sound health policy or it isn’t. If it is sound health practice, then it is not a political statement. And if not wearing one is unsound, then not wearing one is not only a political statement, but a sign of imbecility as well.

On the bright side for Marco, his difficulties drinking water are now only second-worst among GOP leadership.

“Politics has made us so crazy that using or refusing to use a mask has been turned into a social or political statement.”

Yet another false equivalence. Wearing a mask is self-preservation and protection of others, as well as being based on science. Refusing to wear a mask is a political statement and a sign of stupidity.

FIFY, little Marco.

I saw an interview with Rubio once. He considers politics to be his career. Why? Because it’s a great career, pays well, keeps you active, great benefits, all that good stuff. Great career he’s having.

The only thing that ever actually needed to be said about Marco Rubio was what Chrissy Teigen tweeted after he robotically repeated his stupid “dispel with the fiction” phrase four times in one debate:

i am marco rub i o i am mar co rub i o i am mar co rub i o marco o rub i o rub i o io io io io io io explodes

With that, I think most of us can dispense with the fiction that he ever mattered. Bye Marco! Have a good life! Bye! Bye!

Li’l Marco doesn’t give a flying fuck whether anyone wears a mask or whether anyone dies from the virus.

Marco only cares that he is not running for re-election until 2022.
