I expected something like this coming from the GOP. I really believe that the Trump reign has made these GOPers lazy and (more) stupid.
Because we are in a foreign policy crisis, worthy of more attention than oppositional GOP talking points.
Their main objective has nothing to do with NATO or Ukraine or the EU:
It has to do with using every word they say in furtherance of returning Congress and the WH to the GOP and cementing for generations the Supreme Court. If Ukraine can further serve that purpose, Rubio is down with it, even to the point of careless ignorance of SOP.
What fucking grievances? The mask and vaccine mandates are gone. So have they shifted grievances? Good fucking god. I have a suggestion for every frustrated freedumb warrior in the US = get on a plane and go fight for real freedom in Ukraine.
A perhaps better suggestion - they can form a convoy on the border of Ukraine, paint “Z” on the side of each vehicle and proceed to try to drive to Kyiv. May they meet the same fate as the other convoys trying to do the same thing…
I’d expect a US Senator to have more sense than Ron Johnson. But I also see it as disrespectful. Disrespecting the situation that another’s country’s president is dealing with, disrespecting the seriousness of a leader whose country is under attack, and disrespecting his own fucking office.
Rubio can go jump in the lake. I’d like to know what the hell’s going on with Belarus. It’s something, for sure, but it’s like parents arguing behind closed doors, you can’t make out what they’re saying, you just know they’re arguing.
ETA: It’s been most of the day and nothing. I think if there’d be a dramatic collapse of, well, anything, we’d have heard something about it. That Putin needs their help is pretty much the same as looking for spare change in the sofa, and I’m sure there’s a lot of turmoil and craziness, but dramatic developments IDK.
