RNC Passes Resolution Urging Party To ‘Go On Offense’ With Anti-Abortion Bills In 2024 Run-Up - TPM – Talking Points Memo

The resolution also blames Republicans’ historically weak midterms performance on candidates failing to push their anti-abortion bona fides hard enough.

Yup. That exactly what happened. Certainly not the opposite

One of the reasons why McCarthy doesn’t have a firewall, is because Republicans were chained to a losing issue.

Oh well

Republicans want the US to be the most backward modern country re rights of women. The good old
days when women had no choices in life. Appalling. I am so pissed off about this.

They like playing that game where they associate themselves with the very different party of identical name that existed 200 years ago. It’s weird they do this at all, given what the current party under that name thinks about those topics.

Exactly, the one thing Republicans are good at and Democrats not so much is going on the offensive.

They have no choice but to stay with abortion or many who now vote for Republicans will become economic voters or as most call them, Democrats.

Republicans are very good at “BASE” elections. Their base, God, Guns, Gays, Race and Abortion show up to vote. Take away any of the above elections are no longer close.

Or to put another way, Republicans have become the crazy Party and becoming any less crazy loses them more votes then it will gain them.

“Instead of fighting back and exposing Democratic extremism on abortion, many Republican candidates failed to remind Americans of our proud heritage of challenging slavery, segregation, and the forces eroding the family and the sanctity of human life, thereby allowing Democrats to define our longtime position,” the resolution said.

I’m too meh to dig for it, but Republican candidates did exactly that last year.

True, but the discharge petition process is neither quick nor easy, and requires enough GOP support to reach the required 218 majority.

…, sigh.

Next year is an all hands on deck election.

Please excuse me, I want to look at an AP’s reporter’s response to this Trump ‘tweet’.

It’s the Stormy Daniels stuff, which I understand to be a low-level felony. Still, every bit helps.
