RNC chairman Reince Priebus on Face the Nation Sunday said that the tough primary campaign is good for Republicans. Pushing back against conventional wisdom that the drawn out and negative GOP primary will end up weakening the eventual nominee, Priebus drew on the 2008 campaign as proof, saying that the long Obama-Clinton primary helped Democrats while the GOP primary in 2008 “put American to sleep.”
