Why do elites who own private jets get tax deductions for them? Why do Big Oil and Big Coal get billions upon billions in subsidies while reporting record profits and paying almost no taxes? Why do we have a progressive system of taxation? WHY THE FUCK IS DONALD TRUMP NOT HANGING FROM A TRAITOR’S TREE ALREADY?

Gov’t makes “values decisions” that seem “unfair” because they benefit some people, but not all, all the fucking time. This is nothing but CJ Colorblind and the Fascist Five LITERALLY engaging in politicking and political messaging from the bench.

Alito gives away the game the second he tossed out the word “deserves.” It all ultimately boils down to Christian dominionist prosperity gospel. It’s not “unfair” for the ultra-wealthy to get insanely inequitable tax breaks and wealth-exponentially-breeds-wealth regulatory loopholes only they can take advantage of, because their already insane wealth proves their virtue, i.e., they DESERVE to be treated like Gods-walking-among-us. Those who are still trying to learn to walk with their bootstraps in each fist haven’t “earned” jack shit, haven’t proven their “virtue” yet and the only thing they “deserve” is to be exploited by rotten charlatan plutocrats who bribe politicians to appoint judicial fascists willing to flip everything on its head and pretend that those who are working hard, struggling to succeed, getting nowhere and hampered by debt that was literally meant as a gatekeeper for entry into the oligarchy are actually the REAL “elitists.”

THE. OLIGARCHY. MUST. DIE.

Evidently, the Supreme Court isn’t interested in getting back to normal now that the pandemic is finally being controlled somewhat.

Justice Alito asked: “Why was it fair to the people who didn’t get arguably comparable relief?”

–> Because ALL federal programs have limits on who qualifies and who can apply.

For example, the federal assistance given to UNION PENSION FUNDS, which mostly benefited WORKERS WHO DID NOT ATTEND COLLEGE:

"Teamsters Union’s Central States Pension Fund gets nearly $36 billion

Dec 8, 2022 “The money for the Central States Pension Fund is the largest amount of federal aid provided for a pension plan, the Biden administration said, and comes from the American Rescue Plan…”

Why do I feel that the oral arguments are just a vehicle for Alito’s performance art?

These Alito justices don’t give a rat’s ass how much in the way of human misery they will create.

I borrowed money three times for education. But I wasn’t a victim of predatory lending practices like so many of these current loan-holders were/are. I have no problem if they get relief.

And fuck Joe The Plumber, uh, Lawnman.

Because he’s a neofascist white supremacist Christian dominionist prima donna who uses oral arguments as KKKultist performance art…an unrepentant KKKlanner in black robes singing the Song of the South as aria from the bench…Zippity Doo Fucking Dah…

So, this court is not going to rule on this matter on the basis of whether the action is constitutional & complies with legal statutes… No, instead they shall go biblical - behaving as though there were King Solomon … or maybe go more contemporary and be a bunch of Judge Judy’s… or Judge Wapners… just unbelievably deviating from the norm in the pursuit of partisan politics .

Sure, but most folks complaining are of the generation that had their student loans kept reasonable by way of the Hand of government in the form of support for higher education leading to less cost op front.

Most of the folks who are getting relief already Paid more into the cost of their education the previous generations.

But the norm now is the pursuit of partisan politics.

Isn’t there a parable or two about the question of unfairness? Surely Alito knows the parable if the vinyard owner.

But he replied to one of them, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong; did you not agree with me for the usual daily wage? Take what belongs to you and go; I choose to give to this last the same as I give to you. Am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or are you envious because I am generous?’

So the last will be first, and the first will be last (Matt. 20:1–16).

I think I see the problem. Some people decide not to be landscapers (walks off muttering to himself)

Notice how the court in cases like Citizens United or gerrymandering do not discuss fairness. That is fairness to this court only seems to matter when the beneficiary is other then an entity that gives aid and comfort to the Republican Party.

To this observers it seems that to the Robert’s Court there are two sets of standards when applying fairness, one for Republicans and another for everyone else.

Undoing the student loan debt would be bad politics, complaining about it is good for their base, but actually doing it would piss of millions and cause large amount of harm to the economy.

I don’t know that we actually have that breakdown.

I’m rather closer to the ages of the beneficiaries of this policy, and many of us who had to make hard choices to either avoid debt or earn our way to a degree with Service or joining the workforce.

And I don’t approve of a blanket handout. Can get behind almost any reform of the system, but just wiping out loans which resulted in them getting better jobs and making more money is crapping on the people who, facing the exact same circumstances, made other choices which affected their financial earning capabilities and face their own shortfalls, but for whom the government is doing nothing.

The absurd analogies abound.

I’m not a veteran, but where’s my GI Bill and VA medical care?

I didn’t commit any crime, but it’s unfair that I don’t get 3 hots and a cot!

Hahhhahahahah nope. The only laws that SCROTUS will uphold are those voted on by a GQP congress, anything else is Not Constitushioanl per the fanatic 6. And since a GQP congress will never pass any laws apart from tax cuts, we’re left with just the 2nd Amendment as the only “law” in the land.
