Richard Spencer Might Not Be The Last Pentagon Official To Exit Over Trump

There’s a sense of dejection by senior leaders in the Pentagon

Join the club, boys.

You’re at the bottom of the waiting list.

Remember when the Repubs hated the Ruskies and fully supported the military while simultaneously chastising those who did not do the same??? Ah, the good ol’ days…

Moscow Mitch? He’s stacking the rubles for selling out our country.

Soar is one of the lesser-known moons around Neptune, it’s part of the SorosFoundation™’s collaboration with Elon Musk to expand our influence beyond mere humanity.

I know you have a weak bladder and skipped out of the last weekly meeting halfway through, but surely you reviewed the slides.

Some would remind everyone Trump was doing God’s bidding. If God thought Zyklon-B was a bad idea he would have prevented its invention.

Soar’s array of laser weapons are pointed at Dubuque. Just sayin’…

Seriously though, the silent mutinous crowd need to show their cards, get off their asses, walk away from the table and leave the Current Occupant’s casino. We’re at a crossroads here, patriots. You won’t get a better moment to lead the charge against him.

You again. :rage: I had a bad feeling when I walked into the building this morning and saw the lights on above your cubicle for a change…

Not a Pentagon guy, but…

Daniel P. Walsh, whose title was deputy chief of staff, was in charge of the administration’s foreign trips, made decisions about the use of government resources by White House aides…

Hmmmmm…

The US has murdered probably 2 million non combatants since the end of WWII by bombing or shelling. From afar that is, as opposed when their faces could be seen. In that sense the charging of individuals for the murder of other individuals is rendered wildly selective.

That’s the problem. Each one that walks away exposes the one below them to the same shit.

As distasteful as I find Esper, I truly believe that that’s what he’s doing, trying to take the fire away from those beneath as long as he can (he won’t make it until next November). The longer he holds out, that’s one less person who has to sacrifice their career for the current occupant.

It boils down to Trump’s belief that he is in charge of everything. If he disagrees with a military court, he’s right. If he doesn’t want to release his tax returns, he’s right - and not only that he can make other people refuse to listen to the courts when he wants to. He can order staff not to respond to lawful subpoenas. He’s the Imperial Executive. He’s the most important person in the world and he’s the smartest. What’s very scary to contemplate is what happens when final court orders require him to do things he doesn’t want to do. Will he simply refuse, try to order troops to protect him, set up a parallel Trump, court system, declare himself final arbiter through pardons and executive orders and tweets? All those scenarios would have been totally unthinkable not that long ago. But think of the segregationists at the schoolhouse doors refusing to let Black students in or to obey court orders, and their constituents taking more direct action against those seeking justice. At this point, I don’t think there is any scenario Trump wouldn’t try if he thought it would help him stay in power and/or out of jail, including inciting his followers to use their guns and tire irons.

That’s only because I pulled an all-nighter again. It’s almost time for the Christmas bonuses, you know, so have to make my accomplishments quickly, since I’ve spent most of the year on the beach in the Canary Islands, again.

Nope. My bet is, he views real emotions in others, and knows he isn’t up to emulating it that hard. So he just avoids it.

I mean, look at him yesterday with the dog. He was freaking terrified, and wanted the dog muzzled. Hell, even Nixon realized having a dog helped make him look like a real person. Trump just can’t muster that.

Hmmm… now that’s a truly interesting and uniquely new angle that I 'd never have considered. Would you stop making me think, please?

But, he’s a military man. He enlisted in the NY Military Academy and was Commanding Officer of the Columbus Day Parade (although not widely known, it’s a very important holiday celebrating the military and democracy). Totally qualified to lead the armed forces. Just look at that uniform … and those medals!

More like crater spots.

I cannot think of a way for courts to force Trump to comply with their orders. The OLC memo says he’s immune to criminal prosecution or sanctions while in office. Say he had documents in a Lincoln Bedroom safe a court ordered him to release. What if he refused? What the hell is someone going to do, order law enforcement into the executive residence to seize the safe? Trump is standing in the doorway, saying “Over my dead body!”? He can’t be arrested, jailed, anything. What, exactly, is the method in place that would force Trump to comply with a court order when his response to the order is eff you?

Trump asked if it won’t make more sense to have the funeral party meet him at his golf club with maybe lunch at the halfway house. The idea was nixed when the Secret Service couldn’t find a golf cart suitable to make into a hearse.
