Time to pull any and all non-profit statuses he may have. Shut him down. Liberty U is one of the biggest recipients of government education funds via grants/student loans.

Not likely. LU has a vast online degree program and as someone noted elsewhere is a essentially a real estate hedge fund. Too much money to go under. He’s got a brother in the wings to take over. I do hope VA and the Feds get some taxes, though.

If you re-think tax exemption for religious organizations, you are also opening the door to all kinds of government/“religion” commingling. Way too much downside risk in my opinion, though I strongly agree that tax-exempt status is far too often just another tool in the grifters bag. I hate the fact that this db launders his income through religious tax-exemption, but how do you break through that without destroying the church-state wall? Do you really want to give religious fanatics more opportunity to bend the government to their will?
