I know the demolished deal is all about power – tcf and Elmo are saying, if you’re not with me, goodbye – but I have to laugh at the timing. Many of these reps will be gone after January 3, and as noted in MM, the House will then have to vote on a new speaker with that 217-215 GOP edge, and no business will happen until that takes place. Good luck!
Also, this deal would have funded the government only until March, so the MAGA gangsters would get another bite of the apple real soon.

Spectator sport… Didn’t the Romans enjoy spectator sports with wild animals devouring people and gladiators dueling to the death? Yeah, the infighting would be almost funny to watch if it wasn’t for the sheer enormity of the consequences.
Also it’s sickening seeing Trump and Elon Musk gleefully acting as puppeteers with the Republican party as they create chaos that is set to erode the government, enrich their friends and bring genuine pain to millions of Americans.
The fall-out between Trump and Musk can’t come soon enough.
