Republicans Threaten To Filibuster Subpoena Enforcement And Quash SCOTUS Oversight

What does this tell those of us who want to live in a just society that’s not a fascist dictatorship? The Repubs are behind us with knives and guns, just waiting for the right moment. They are working so fucking hard to get their new world order into place it’s not even amusing anymore.

The citation of an article in another thread that we’re seeing MAGA wave 2 is a very spot-on assessment. They are never going back to a reasonable situation with cooperation, debate, etc. They are locked in for a different USA. It would be nice if a whole bunch of folks, mainly in media positions that could make a difference, would figure this out at some point.

It tells us exactly to whom the Republican Senators are beholden.

I’d like to see it. But we all know the super rich are above the law.
Unless they steal from even richer men.

Nothing can “enforce testimony” from a person sufficiently motivated not to provide it, whether in Congress or in court.

I was going to say that, too. I think @kate proximity to congresscritters has left her slightly exasperated with all of them.

They’re probably thinking they’re getting a a pretty good ROI.

The difference was, the someone who showed up for 11 hrs of hostile interrogation had nothing to hide. These folks are all sitting on piles and piles of questionable, if not downright illegal, acts, so they are afraid.

Gee, nothing suspect there.

I hate Lindsey Graham’s face. Both of them.

Oh the SCOTUS majority are doing that all on their own, with no help from Democrats.

Such a filibuster of enforcing a committee subpoena would be unprecedented

Why are Republicans ALWAYS the first side to think of these new ways to slow things down? Where was this sort of thinking during the Amy Corbet whatever Supreme Court hearings? Dems need to up their game.

God: Are there 10 honest members of the GOP Senate caucus? Find me 10, just 10, and I will not destroy the Senate GOP caucus with fire and brimstone.

Ah fuck it it’s a ridiculous question on its face. Lock and load, archangels!

Dick Durbin.

Ah, great, (lays head down on desk).

(Lifts head) but wait, he can ask the DoJ to do their part,(oh, that’s two bold steps, oh, nvm, lays head back down).

Unintentional transparency. “Why, yes, we ARE corrupt, and we intend to keep it that way.”

White House and the democrats should keep pushing, establishing a record of corruption on the Supreme Court. If these “citizens’” dealing with Supreme Court justices was completely above board they would show up without subpoenas to publically exonerate themselves. This will all just accumulate until there is massive public support to expand the Supreme Court

I was talking about daylight saving time.

It seems like the country is sliding into being ungovernable because of GOP shenanigans at all levels.

Oh yes. Daylight squandering time. A free case of jetlag for those who cannot afford to fly.
