Seth Moulton may have done well in an NPR interview. But don’t fall for him in a big way. He’s an opportunist and not at all progressive.

Totally agree and I figure this is a good time to reintroduce this from John Oliver.
I’ll just mention that it just so happened that my wife and I were about to become eligible for Medicare ourselves when it came out and we watched it through several times to make sure we got everything out of it that we needed.
EDIT: it was VERY helpful to us and strongly reinforced what I already “knew”—to AVOID Medicare ‘(Dis)ADVANTAGE’—and fleshed out the WHY.

If they really wanted to cut fraud in government programs, they could try where all the money is, in DHS and the military.
I know, I know, crazy talk.
The Dems ought to, instead of defending the MCare etc, compare those dollars to what the military wastes, especially now, with trumps illegal and moronic war, and how incompetent Hegseth has turned the Pentagon into by firing all those flag officers, and so on and you know they haven’t been replaced. Half rations on the Lincoln? WTF, that’s how we beat Japan and wore down the Soviets, with our advanced supply chain, which trump and that stupid idiotic incompetent unqualified moron Hegseth have destroyed.
But, I guess who needs a supply train when ya got nothing to supply!

If all “not at all progressive” Dems spoke out as strongly as he did in this interview, I’d be thrilled. It may be that Trump’s mishandling of the military is the only issue where centrist Dems feel comfortable actually laying into the Trump admin, but I’d rather have that than the usual mealy-mouthed Schumerian palaver.

As I said, I’m glad Moulton spoke strongly and persuasively on NPR. But he’s challenging Ed Markey in the senatorial primary here in MA, which is why I am sensitive to expressions of enthusiasm for him. Markey is still ahead in the polls, but the race has been tightening. Markey is a true progressive. Yes, he’s old – 80! – but you’d never guess it from his demeanor, the energy he displays, the bacon he brings home, his activities as a senator. (Compare Elizabeth Warren, our senior senator, who is 77.) Markey has seniority for committees, having served in the Senate since 2013. AOC backed a challenger 6 years ago, but since then they have publicly teamed up together.
I’d feel less enthusiastic about Markey because of his age if Seth Moulton weren’t his challenger. Moulton is certainly smart, but he is a bit of a chameleon and seems to be fueled by personal ambition rather than commitment to the American people. Did you know that, after 5 years as a rep to the House – his only experience in an elected office, in 2019 Moulton mounted a short-lived campaign to run for president? He’s still aiming to be president. Self-regard. Ambition.
Check out the two MA Democrats’ Wikipedia articles, which correctly characterize Markey as “progressive” and Moulton as “moderate.”

The only thing better for this GOP approach would be to have Senator Rick Scott, the Florida Medicare & Medicaid fraud billionaire, touring the country blaming “the poors” for fraud and high prices.

I would need to see strong contrary evidence before I’ll believe Scott won’t do it.

More likely to backfire on them by getting Americans to connect corruption to affordability. Which will make the job easier for Dems to blame the whole mess on Trump’s corruption.
