Republican State Officials Do Trump’s Election Denying Prep Work For Him

Not the only reason. Republicans also want to erode public confidence in election results (unless they win), so as to make their next authoritarian coup attempt more likely to succeed.

In the rare instances where a non-citizen might be found on the rolls, there is often a reasonable explanation, David Levine, an election integrity consultant, told TPM. For example, in states with automatic voter registration, there’s always the potential that non-citizens will accidentally register, without ever actually attempting to vote.

A point that often doesn’t get made explicitly in the debunking is: many people who are on the rolls never show up to vote.

Election staff bounce you at the door if you can’t prove you are the person on the rolls, and that you currently have the right to vote.

Republicans always omit these details because otherwise it would be impossible to lie about a bunch of illegal voting.

Personally. I think that after Harris is elected, any elected or appointed official claiming the “Big Steal” bullshit, that is unsuccessful in proving it in a federal court, should be arrested and charged with fomenting insurrection. It’s immaterial whether or not they can be found guilty, as the goal is to bankrupt them with legal costs. In addition to that, lf found guilty they should be sent to Federal maximum security prisons located as far from their homes as possible. That will punish them and their families with the cost of visiting. We need to make the Republican Party anathema to any one thinking of entering politics.

Here in Texas and I assume other states, there is a database that indicates anyone who has moved but not updated their Voter Registration . These individuals are placed on a “suspense” list. The resolution may be remedied by simply showing up to vote and updating their residence information at the polls. If DEMS really want to be pro-active, they should reach to those voters and have them update their voter registration NOW! (Yes the data is available to County Chairs and others - so no excuses)

Ken Paxton decided to try and attack the Bexar County Election Department. And like most State of Texas antics, they show up (or send messages at closing time). I sure he is upset as Bexar is pretty BLUE and the GOP folks complain but somehow don’t have the “wherewithall” to undergo training and past testing that would qualify them to be an election judge.
