You can almost hear the heads exploding at FAUX News…

(btw, nice choice, Joe)

I was hoping for her, but hopes rarely come to pass these days.

Went against Jim Clyburn on this one, but I believe that both men have an understanding.

Now I wonder if there will be any Republicans voting to confirm her…

But will Ginny Thomas approve?

One would think that Ginni Thomas would have some sense of decency given that a landmark case before the SC was Loving v. Virginia. The irony of Ginni being a shortened version of Virginia seems lost on her…

This provides the GOP with another opportunity to show that they’ve abandoned the dog whistles in favor of bullhorns. We should be shocked by the open racism that will be displayed during the confirmation hearings. But we won’t. It’s become normal. Expected. And it’s going to escalate until they’re voted out of office. Things are going to get uglier than you’d ever imagined.

Now all the racists will come clamoring forward complaining that Biden has made them say racist things. And that they resent it.

To me what will be more shocking will be the major media getting behind the GOP and helping with the bashing.

No self-awareness of any sort in these folks.

Good. Qualified and previously confirmed for DC Circuit. Biden should instruct Durbin and Schumer to hold no more than 2 hour debates for the Judiciary Comm. and Floor, respectively, and then just hold the votes.

This is a done deal unless Manchin goes into full racist mode. We all have more pressing business to consider.

My thought as well.

And it’s going to escalate until they’re voted out of office.

That’s the thing: they won’t ever, ever be voted out of office because their base needs the rush of racism to their “lost cause.” It’s the hill they’ll gladly die on because what else is left? Grievance is all they’ve got.

ETA: If Dems can rally our troops to overcome insane obstacles to voting, maybe there’s a chance (see: Jones, Doug D-AL). Short of that, we have to endure it.

Carlson will be protesting about the looming addition of watermelon to the SCOTUS cafeteria menu.

Because of course.

Nice profile of KBJ from last year in the Post that includes this excerpt from a 2020 speech she gave to black law students:

“I absolutely know and understand that you will face prejudice and other obstacles that other people in your environment do not have to endure. The question I am encouraging you to think about is whether being confrontational will actually solve the problem, and even more important, whether it is worth your time.

Having a thick skin means recognizing when you’re being disrespected but also understanding that marshaling a response each time something happens is a big distraction that takes your mind and attention away from what really matters, which is doing the best job that you can possibly do so that you can rise to a level in which you will actually be able to address the kinds of issues that you’ve witnessed.”

OMG that is soooo much Critical Race Theory going on that speech! It just has no place on the dignified Supreme Court.

I just want to thank the team that worked night and day to find the eminently qualified jurist with one of the blackest name available. I owe you all a drink.

Sigh, once again Biden proves how much he hates white people, men and Euro-centric names, same as when he picked Obama as his running mate in 2008 (ok, Obama was male, but whatevs). The only way to get past racism is to stop picking people who aren’t white Christian males for SCOTUS. If black women want to get ahead then they need be white and male and pick more conventional names and stop threatening us white men! Now where’s mommy with those cookies she promised?!?
