“Allies”, translation, crime partners.

["Meanwhile some Republican lawmakers have suggested that the move to pardon could backfire — even giving the impression of an admission of guilt. "]

Stunning in its disregard for common sense.

It will be like children playing on the playground … making up fantasy superpowers that they possess … “I am super infinity times a billion protected from everything and Kryptonite too”

LOL!

“Hey! I did crimes for you too!”

T motivation has been to act only in his own interest. 20 may not cover the tentacles of his criminal exposure(s).

Three sources who regularly speak with the President told Politico that Trump fears the pre-emptive clemency for the hefty list of family members and allies could yield unintended consequences, including, according to one source, making those close to the President look like criminals.

Way too late to prevent that that, you America-hating seditionist assmunch.

Not if they themselves need pardoning.

That rocket blasted off long ago and is now halfway to Jupiter.

Will Pushy Galore be getting a pardon? (Just asking for a friend.)

Actually, it just passed Pluto and is headed to deep space.

If the pardon reads ‘‘during my time as a declared presidential candidate, president-elect, and president,’’ Trump need not list actual misdeeds.

President Donald Trump is considering preemptive pardons for as many as 20 aides and associates before leaving office, Politico reported late Thursday.
… …
OK A preemptive pardon for stuff someone might do in the future… is that what this is? I’m a bit confused.
O is this a pardon for stuff someone did but hasn’t been caught yet?

If my pal Rod Serling were really on his Game, he would have disappeared the Trump Era entirely.

Except for one thing:

The Lessons we have Learned.

For those interested, an interesting commentary on this issue:

Trump always puts out trial balloons and looks at the pushback. So, let’s push back. It also does not protect them from state or House investigations.

But this is where politics comes in. From my perspective, I am most concerned about the integrity of the process. We, as a Nation, can deal with the fall out from truthfully examining and reporting what happened and who did it. The penalty may be another issues, but not the facts.

It’s time to clear the air. The Republican Party will scream but they were complicit and are now desperately trying to maintain some authority. Parties die, and the last 40-50 years show they died a long time ago.

For all our complaints about certain administrations, there used to be at least an understanding of what crossed the line as it relates to the presidency and the office. Yes, Nixon was a crook, but his dirt was down low. trump doesn’t give a fuck. He does things because he can - right or wrong or how it looks be damned. He is abusing his powers but again, HE DOESNT CARE.

Repubs will wring their hands and maybe a couple will say something real weak tea without even mentioning trumps name but in the end they will shrug because this is the monster they created and love.

Look for laws regarding presidential power to be rewritten at the very whiff of Biden doing something the Rs don’t like.

The “Family” have committed enough other crimes that pardoning them for Federal crimes will probably not matter much. Tax fraud is a Trump Family tradition. Didn’t Donnie’s sister have to resign her judgeship when her fraud was uncovered? Has she ever stood trial for that? New York State has enough to put Ivankababy in a very stylish orange jumpsuit.

I believe that ‘preemptive,’ in this case, means before charges are filed or investigations are conducted.

Robert Serling , Rod’s brother, was a friend of mine. He was an aviation writer and good novelist.

Thanks. The whole idea is confusing to me. I am not a lawyer. But it still stinks as it means “somebody done wrong” somewhere.
The corruption in trumpland is deep and wide.
