Top White House economic advisers briefed a group of majority Republican donors in February about the genuine threat of COVID-19 and its perceived impact on the economy, while President Donald Trump was firing off tweets that suggested the opposite — that the coronavirus pandemic “very much under control,” in the United States and that the stock market was “starting to look very good to me!”
Of course they did, why else would the GOP support an idiot like Trump, if he were not the easiest president to manipulate EVER.

I read the Times report and shrugged. This stuff has become expected and has lost it’s ability to shock. That’s evidence of some of the really dangerous damage the Trump administration has inflicted: government corruption and favoritism is now merely part of the background noise.
Well, to give Donnie credit, he’s running our Government like a business.

The only way Kudlow loses his job is if he admits that he lied and thus pisses off his boss. All he has to do is continue to lie until today’s news cycle churns him to the bottom of the pile. No one except TPM readers will even remember this tomorrow.
Okay, that’s my cynical take. Given all the other news out there, I can’t imagine this gaining any traction, but it sure would be interesting if it did.
