It was all about the impeachment trial.

But maybe this is Jolly Jared’s secret plan to unite the Middle East at long last. No, no, that’s just silly.

If you look at the precipitous rise in Northrop Grumman stock prices you’ll notice that it aligns perfectly with the very day Cockholster began wandering around Mal-a-Largo telling his sleazy pals he was working on a “big” response to the Iranian regime that they would be hearing or reading about very “soon.”

It’s almost as if there was suddenly a surge in insider trading coming out of South Florida or something. Almost. /s

Who could imagine?

Pompeo is a complete loser. He can’t even disseminate the crap he is fed. What a laughably inept POS he has shown himself to be.

Bah. That’s the way bidness is supposed to work.

“There is no question that Iran pulled the trigger that ultimately led to this tragedy, but it’s hard to imagine that this would have happened if not for Donald Trump’s initial decision to take out Soleimani.”

" I want answers: Canada PM says evidence indicates Iran shot down Ukraine jet

All 176 people on board, including 63 Canadians, were killed on Wednesday shortly after the Ukrainian airliner took off from Tehran on a flight to Kiev. Iran denies its forces brought down the plane."

I have great unease now, and have had unease for many, many years. Back to about 1968. I cannot trust any Federal Agency after 1980, whether that is Intelligence, Judicial, Presidential, or Congressional. Nor the Military/Defense/Industrial Complex. Nor most of those running State Governments. Nor the majority of the Media. Nor the social media crap sellers (Facebook, Twitter, You Tub, etc., etc. Don’t belong to any of these groups. I do not believe I am alone in this. But, I am still fighting for justice, voting rights, underserved populations, including migrants and immigrants. Where do we go?

The walls of the hole would collapse in on him in short order.
Figuratively, may they do so in November via a blue wave.

I’m assuming that everyone knows that Representative Pompeo led the charge against HRC at the Benghazi hearing. Eleven hours of her trying to explain to people whose goal was political gain and to harm her campaign that there was no there there.

There is no evidence that any threat was imminent or that killing Soleimani was necessary. Those are required elements for a self-defense rationale for the attack.

It was therefore an assassination of an official of another country. It’s a serious violation of international law. A referral to the International Criminal Court is indicated.

The WSJ story was up here earlier today, and all you can access without a subscription is one paragraph. Same as in this tweet. Dead in the water at the same point. So, it seems to be fully informed, one must have subs to NYT, WaPo, WSJ and a bunch of others. Reporters here need to quote from the stories more fully.

Anyway, I can just hear trumPP the aspiring gangster telling the weasley R senators “I’m going to make you an offer you can’t refuse.”

The assassination wasn’t this country’s first rodeo either. The president of Iran has reminded the occupant of it.

Instant gratification takes too long for the occupant.

I believe lengthy quotes are illegal, and especially if the purpose is to avoid paying for them. My spouse is a retired journalist, nationally recognized in his field. These publications are not non-profits. In order to continue to do the reporting we all depend on they must pay their bills. Reporting takes a lot of time, contacts and skill. Most print journalists are not paid all that well.

I gotta admit I think he’s lying about that, like he’s lying about the four embassies. I hope we can get clarity on it soon, one way or the other.

On what planet, hunny?

And one is still not obligated to have a subscription to anything one chooses not to.

And neither are the nation’s teachers. Your point?

You’re preaching to the choir. I have subs to NYT, print and digital, WaPo digital, and locally SF Chronicle, print and digital, all of them seven days a week.

But for TPM’s purposes, much commenting is done without a full grasp of the facts if the facts are not within reach because of paywalls. So, I like to paste paras from the reporting I have access to when it’s pertinent.

I had dreams of journalism when I was in school, never achieved them, so I maintain the greatest respect for journos esp. today when they stand between authoritarianism and shedding light on the truth.

@sonsofares I repeat: it is journalists who bring us the truth about this maladministration. It lies, obfuscates, covers up, and denies, and in order for the women and men who do the work to thrive, they must be paid and it’s done through news consumers paying something for it.
