Report: Mulvaney Faced Termination Before Impeachment Probe Began

I have to wonder who the source was for #2. I’m flabbergasted someone within the Administration actually stated that to a reporter.

Mulvaney’s entire strategy can best be described as “LEROOOOY! JENKINS!”

Could it be bad advice from his “Senior” WH Advisors?

And who might those advisors be?

Probably so.

According to the article, this is Mulvaney fighting Cipollone for turf. As Cipollone is White House Counsel, and the primary person responsible for Trump’s impeachment defense, Mulvaney will lose this battle. He seems off the reservation now, in any case. Especially if he was the source for this article.

White House spokesperson Judd Deere told CNN that Mulvaney “has the President’s confidence” and that his standing in the White House “has not changed.”

It seems clear to me that Mulvaney was sent out to say exactly what he said-both times. The first time was a trial balloon for Trump to see if the “ admit it and claim that it is no big deal” practice would work. The second time was clearly a fall on the grenade. The Big Orange miscalculated and someone has to take the fall.
He may have enough on Trump to keep
him from being fired. He is a clear and present danger if they cut him loose. That doesn’t mean he’s safe. Any one of them is a Fox News show away from disaster

Though I did and Josh can defend himself, he’s not a Trump cheerleader.

The only reason they’re keeping Mulvaney around is because he knows too much? I’m a bit shocked at the matter of factness, the bluntness of it.

I know I’ve been watching a mob flick for the past three years, but still. The mob is usually more subtle and tactful about these things. They are called an “organization”, after all.

And Mulvaney, he’s not a “rat”…yet.

I’m not

Trump is a rasslin fan (and wannabe mafioso) and Mullvaney’s expected beatdown is coming.

I don’t read this one as being a thing of him using it as leverage or anything, but more that, as a core player knowing the connecting threads, if there is a way to play defense, he’s one of the handful of people around who can coordinate that.

Everyone inside the administration knows that Trump is criminally insane, but the bus is traveling too fast for them to jump off. Some of them, like some of the 911-type hangers-on who finally let go and fall to their deaths in a domestic aviation-related catastrophic event of the future, will commit public career suicide and focus all their attention on cooperating with investigators and doing whatever it takes to get their sentences reduced.

Mulva would do well to keep his powder dry dry out the powder he pissed on this week. The impeachment inquiry is gonna catch a lot more fish than just the big fat ugly one and Mulva’s already taken a bite on the shiny hook.
