If she isn’t retiring, she loses the primary unless she is incredibly deft on the campaign trail.
These are knowledgeable politicians who are presumptively working off of background knowledge.

Short answer: progressives keep shooting themselves in the foot.
There are now two progressives in this race and Khanna is possibly the third.
The Democrats need to work this out as Katie Porter, Adam Shift and Barbara Lee are 3 of the best Congressional representatives in congress and it would be a shame for all 3 give up their seats as only one of them can be a senator.
As for Diane Feinstein whose has been a national figure since Walter Mondale wanted to pick her as his running mate in 1984 when she was mayor of San Francisco but Tip O’Neil convinced Mondale to pick a congresswoman from New York instead, she will be missed.
But like with Nancy Pelosi time does what it does. I just hope like with Pelosi there is a way forward that does not have casualties.
If you’re lucky, you’ll live this long and still have brain power. But you better act fast because of right now, you don’t have any.
Wait til you’re a woman of a. . . certain age and some guy calls you a “young lady.”
Porter, Lee, Khanna, Schiff - time for the obligatory “Dems in disarray!”
Khanna is a progressive?
Schiff, Dianne.
I theek he’s part of the caucus, if I’m wrong…
I just hope that a few of those Dems decide to stay in the House. It would be a real shame to lose Porter, Schiff, Lee, Khanna, plus a few others to a jungle primary in which only one can come out on top. We already lost Val Demings in Florida in 2022.
Lee n Schiff’s seats are safe (same 4 Khanna).
He might be. I have a foggy recollection of some positions which struck me as odd.
I hope we can avoid racism.
True. But those individuals bring a great deal more to the table than just the D after their names. It would be a shame to lose all that experience and brainpower if they all go after the one seat.
There was a woman at a local store who called me “young man” a few years ago and after the third or 4th time I quietly asked her to stop because it was rude.
Actually wanted to tell her to knock it the fuck off but that would have been even more rude.
Though I did, here’s the problem: it’s a big world out there and they can’t stay Reps forever.
I didn’t turn the air blue with my response but I made sure the few dolts that have done this understand why they shouldn’t.
But, seriously, what would you preferred to be called? There aren’t a lot of options.
The thing is she knew my name, which made it even worse.
All right, California Democratic Party.
It’s time to get your shit in a pile: figure this out and put two (exactly two–no more and no less) candidates up with DiFi. It would be better if DiFi was one of the two, but figure it out NOW.
