Before the House voted along party lines to condemn President Trump for his racist tweets and rhetoric about four congresswomen of color, a white Republican lawmaker made the outlandish claim that he is a “person of color” because he’s white.
Since none of us is transparent we are all people of color but when the phrase colored people is used, we all know who it is meant to be about, but nice try Kelly.
“Prior to redistricting on March 19, 2018, the 16th congressional district was located in the southeastern part of the state, just west of Philadelphia. Previously, northwestern Pennsylvania was represented by the 3rd congressional district. The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania redrew the district in February 2018 after ruling the previous map violated the state constitution due to partisan [gerrymandering] What was the 16th district was modified to become the [eleventh district], and the old [third district] likewise became the 16th, for the 2018 elections and representation thereafter.”
“Yeah they have actually. With a name like Mike Kelly you can’t be from any place else but Ireland.’”
The surname is one of the most prevalent surnames in Ireland. It is also very common in Galloway, and the Isle of Man.[4] The name O’Kelly, Kelly, Kelley, Kellie and the Gaelic form O’Ceallaigh, is the most common surname in Ireland. There are approximately half a million people worldwide who bear this name. Up until the 10th century surnames were not used in Ireland. The name O’Kelly did not spring from a single source, but arose independently in several areas in Ireland, also in Scotland and the Isle of Man and in England. In other areas, notably in Cornwall, Isle of Man and probably in Antrim, the name Kelly arose from Celli, meaning man of the woods.[5]
I’ll bet he thinks it’s clever to say “You already did” when someone asks if he or she can ask him a question. It just makes you sound like a bratty-ass 9-year-old. I’d think a chronological adult would be embarrassed to say such a thing.
