Rep. Gohmert Tests Positive For COVID After Perennially Refusing To Wear Mask

I just hope he self-quarantines himself with the rest of the GOP.

In a very small, poorly ventilated room.

If Covid-19 is nothing to worry about, he should go to Texas with Trump and sit right next to him.

Ignorant, hyper-partisan fools.

I think we should sit the GOP down and go through the basics again. Testing does not cause cases and it does not prevent cases. You get the virus from someone else who’s infected and infects you because you’re too goddamn stupid to wear a mask. This is not challenging information for most of us.

If he gets the strain of the virus that attacks the brain, it won’t matter. There’s nothing there to damage.

Hopefully it’s nothing trivial.

This was, to a very high percentage in probability, preventable.

The odd point revealed here is that Republicans cannot do the right thing even when it is in their immediate interest.

That is why the GOP is now better described as a death cult political party.

Well, the actual interview doesn’t air until August 3, although there are quite a few crazy sections already out there.

Keep doing those interviews, Trump. Here, have another nail.

Gohmert is the kind of person who exists only to serve as a bad example.

Gohmert is just the kind of guy who would argue he got coronavirus BECAUSE he got tested.

“Ya see? The President was right. If I hadn’t gotten that test, I wouldn’t have tested positive.”

Gohmert first alerted the world to this powder during an interview with Tyler’s KLTV, when he was asked about the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine that’s been championed by President Trump as a possible treatment for the coronavirus. This despite potential heart complications, a lack of clinical trials, and studies showing it has no statistically significant effect. Nevertheless, Gohmert said he believes hydroxychloroquine could be just as powerful a weapon against the pandemic as the powder already being used in Germany that, when mixed with water, kills the virus on contact—and that Louie Gohmert, apparently, just made up.

“It is being used in Germany as a mist,” Gohmert said. “Health-care workers go through a misting tent going into the hospital, and it kills the coronavirus completely dead, not only right then, but any time in the next fourteen days that the

Gohmert also claims to have spoken to an Arizona-based plant that’s manufacturing the powder, saying he urged them to “fast-track” it for use in the United States. But when pressed by PolitiFact for more details about what this powder consists of, or even the name of the company where it’s supposedly being produced, Gohmert’s office didn’t respond to “multiple requests.” According to the site’s Madlin Mekelburg, however, she did get responses from officials at Germany’s Federal Ministry of Health, the German Society of Hospital Hygiene, and the German Hospital Association—all of them saying this “magic powder” simply doesn’t exist.

“Gohmert was scheduled to fly to Texas on Wednesday morning with President Donald Trump and tested positive in a pre-screen at the White House.”

He got booted from the flight.

To quote the President,

“You know, MANY people are saying that. We’ll have to see, and maybe it will disappear. Or maybe not. But a lot of people are saying that…”
