Not a problem for Trump since he doesn’t know Sondland and how he became an Ambassador without Trump’s knowledge clears his self of all wrong doing.
It is all fake news and deep state.

“We all understood that if we refused to work with Mr. Giuliani, we would lose an important opportunity to cement relations between the United States and Ukraine,”

Cemented, yeah. Fully encased, in fact.

And dropped in the East River.

That is the truth of it. Anyone who thinks otherwise is ________________ (Fill in blank.)

I think the Roger Stone conviction, on top of Manafort and Cohen’s are carrying a LOT more relevance these days.

Or will the plane somehow, snicker, snicker, keep right on flying cross that so porous southern boarder.

I suspect a hospital in Texas will have the pleasure of an unannounced visit today from the Healthiest President In U.S. History for Phase 2 of his annual physical.

Holy shit, he’s underbusing Pence. Read p. 17 of the opening statement.

Holy Shit. Reading that opening statement, Sondland is throwing Trump and Rudy under the bus with attitude. He repeats over and over that

  1. He doesn’t like Rudy. He didn’t like what Rudy was doing. However, he had no choice but to work with Rudy, because the President insisted on it.

  2. He doesn’t have full recollection of his conversations with Trump, and he may have misstated things in his earlier testimony. However, that is because the President won’t give him access to his phone logs or conversation transcripts. (Whatever he’s paying his lawyer-who no doubt came up with that genius dodge-it’s not enough.)

  3. As for the call at the restaurant, he does seem to remember the details (though he can’t be sure of them because of the lack of records…), but, on reflection, it did happen, Trump is loud and profane over the phone, and he has no reason to doubt the comments overheard.

Bam!

I think I hear the characteristic beeping of a bus being backed up over Trump and Rudy.

Exactly right. Rudy is portrayed as a persistent fungal infection. Pompeo is also looped in repeatedly via emails and WhatsApps. Can’t believe the dude brought the WhatsApps!

I expected Sondland to sing to save his a–, but he’s SCREAMING. Wow.

Damn! No pulled punches here!

You’re much stronger than I am. I shut off the tv after less than 1 minute, I can’t afford to replace another one, have a stroke or have my TMJ flair up again.

Sondland isn’t about to let a punk-ass schmuck like Trump cost him his freedom or property. As corrupt as Sondland is, he’s not gonna take a fall for a buffoon like Trump. The evidence against Trump is so massive, so overwhelming that at this point it’s starting to become redundant and overkill. Impeach the bastard and let the complicit GOP a-holes in the Senate show their disdain for the Constitution and refuse to convict him. The GOP swore to never let what happened to Nixon happen to another republican POTUS. Only Democratic presidents should ever be impeached because reasons.

I started cackling when I saw that bit. “Sorry I goofed, it’s cause the guy you’re really after is continuing to obstruct justice”

And it will work so well because, y’know, the guy they’re really after is continuing to obstruct justice. Petards and hoisting and so on.

Gordon Sondland is innocent, y’all!

His opening is well written, but this is as good as it gets for him. His best hope is that, like Volker and (to a lesser extent) Morrison yesterday, the majority lets him slide on his self-serving lies and evasions for the sake of accepting something closer to the truth on everyone else.

Three things are critical about this WhatsApp exchange.

What about the fact that United States Ambassadors and senior career diplomats are doing anything, whatsoever, on WhatsApp, FFS!!!

The dam is breaking, Trump. The flood is coming. You must be wondering – will I be washed away?

Clearly. I too see this “calling out” as a way to get Bolton into the same chair.

It makes sense to compel Bolton’s testimony this way. Redundancies provide security for Sondland and people in his position.
