So why didn’t the Senate Republicans sit on this report to keep it hidden until after the election? Is this their contribution to the Democratic convention this week?

Pure coinkydink.

I’m quite sure this will be met with cries of “fake news,” “deep state,” etc. Except that this was a Republican-led committee and Senator Burr actually seems to have avoided partisanship. Not new information, but to have it confirmed by a Senate committee makes me feel a bit better. As far as the quibbles about the headline, apparently some folks never heard the expression “Singer drops new track.” I understood it perfectly.

Wow–SSCI goes further than Mueller did in describing Konstantin Kilimnik’s relationship with Russian intelligence. “Kilimnik is a Russian intelligence officer,” the report says. kilimnik was Manafort’s longtime business associate. (pg 28) pic.twitter.com/xpbhDechU1

"Paul Manafort? I never met him. He worked for the campaign for a bit making sandwiches I hear. Maybe I ate a BLT once. I don’t know. Did you know that bacon comes from a pig? A lot of people don’t know that. And that a tomato is really a fruit? Who knew? "

“The Committee found that Manafort’s presence on the Campaign and proximity to Trump created opportunities for Russian intelligence services to exert influence over, and acquire confidential information on, the Trump Campaign,” the report said.

The report also pointed to Manafort’s discussions with Kilimnik about a Ukraine “peace plan” that benefited the Kremlin — discussions that began during the campaign and continued through 2018. Manafort’s coordination with Kilimnik and other Russia-affiliated persons continued after the election and included work seeking to “undermine evidence that Russia interfered in the 2016 U.S. election.”

Clearly the whole Rusher Thing was a witch hunt.

This was a bipartisan report and yet none of the Republicans on the committee voted to impeach. They had this information. Burr, Risch, Collins, Blunt Cotton, Rubio, Cornyn, Sasse. Shame on your sorry asses.

A Republican chaired committee, which undoubtedly whitewashed large swaths of the administration’s wrong doing, releases a report that looks pretty damning. This is a big deal, especially released this close to the election. Granted, most people won’t read it, but if the media makes even a half-assed effort to follow up, Rebups will have some explaining to do, especially those who have been so vocal in defending Trump’s actions and downplaying Russian interference.

I believe you and the report on that…I just…ughh…I just can’t wrap my head around it yet, even though that’s been the general consensus for awhile now. I guess I just don’t want to believe Mueller did anything intentionally nefarious. But, I’ll get there I suppose. Makes me sad. Rosenstein though, I could smack him across the room and back.

And that headline is the worst, damn near gave me a fit.

Totally normal behavior /s

Unless I’m misinterpreting something, isn’t this the smoking gun for the link between the Trump campaign and Russia?

You go to the circus with friends. A tiny car wheels into the center ring. Shortly it disgorges a bunch of clowns. Sure, it’s a funny sight, but you and your friends have seen this before. It’s not a big deal.

No one says “OMG, can you believe that?!?!”

When I read it, both “released” and “abandoned” immediately came to mind. It was a synaptic photo-finish.

There would also be a smoking gun if he shot someone on Fifth Avenue in broad daylight in front of hundreds of witnesses. For that he also would suffer no consequences.

So much for smoking guns.
