McQuire Woods is a big firm with a good reputation, so far as I have ever been able to tell. They’re not the pinnacle of the profession, but they’re solid.
It’s fine. Not the most compelling I’ve ever seen, but it gets the job done and I didn’t see a bunch of typos or anything.
My understanding is that Mrs. Falwell is a power player too. Why isn’t she a defendant as well? Might there be a little old time misogyny involved. What about Granda?
They’re using his own statements against him. If Granada was in fact extorting the Falwells, then as a Trustee he had a duty to inform the University. They’re claiming, among other things, he did not, which would be a breach of his fiduciary duty to inform the Board. That beach is cause to terminate the contract and seek damages. Granada will deny it. But the fact that Falwell says Green and Granada says Red, doesn’t absolve Falwell. The dispute should have been disclosed. Falwell did not think through the allegations in his original complaint very well. I’m assuming that it will soon come out the Trustees, now feigning an attack of the vapors, were well aware of Falwell’s lifestyle. This might very well become the cauldron of hypocrisy worthy of an HBO documentary or made for television drama. It won’t be pretty … thankfully …
Me too. And I think both are moving forward. I haven’t seen anything about them.
I’ve mostly seen stories about the new suits that have been filed - the class action for COVID deaths and the possibility of his liability for January 6.
I don’t know but by all reports she was the real brains behind Falwell, Jr. and he knew it. She was the dragon lady nobody wanted to cross. She pushed Falwell’s brother out of the university business and into the pulpit full time.
