For months I’ve puzzled: What was their game plan (if they had one)? Surely they didn’t expect to prevail, right? Then what?
Now we know. These motherfuckers really think they’re entitled to permanent minority rule, apartheid-style. They need to be exposed, ridiculed, disgraced, fired, shunned and whatever other nonviolent penalty anyone can imagine.

I have (for the moment) one question that regardless of what information I read remains unanswered. Why didn’t anyone in the Attorney General Office (Acting Attorney General, Acting Deputy Attorney General, and Acting Assistant Attorney General) report this effort and deal with these individuals, especially after the January 6th Insurrection effort? How can they look the other way and simply not say anything or do anything? Trump survives because he goes all out and has no internal mechanism to properly judge right from wrong, and everyone knows that to be true. So any action from Trump needs/should be viewed through a different lens. Where were these voices whose job it is to protect this country and follow its laws? If is was reported, who knew about it, when did they know about it, and what did they do about it?

Edit: I just read the letter. Apparently, state legislatures are vested with inherent power to declare the means of selecting electors by popular vote invalid at any time, including after the vote has been cast and tabulated, and to retake the power to select electors as they deem correct. And if the darned governor won’t call them into special session for this purpose, they can just call a session themselves.
It really puts their naked assumption of power right out there.

Report to whom? Trump’s at the top of the food chain then. Only thing that would happen is that they’d have been fired, Clark would have been appointed, and DOJ would have followed Trump’s demand to undermine the election results.
In those final months, everything could have gotten a lot worse and quickly had a few people not held on and actually done the semi-right things.

Clark was on the call with Trump the day before, where Trump told DOJ to just say the election was corrupt and let him and the R. congressmen handle the rest.
