“Pretty twisted” sums up the abuse of Scripture and it’s strained interpretations as practiced by Religious Right Partisans…
“The Prosperity Gospel” is an obvious, and old heresy, on it’s face.
Phillip K. Dick in one of his more expansive moments (in his novel Valis) thought the Bible was actually a holographic representation of all wisdom, there for them who would seek.
I think what he actually noticed was that it can be twisted to give any desired result with the right “interpretation”. Living among Evagelicals has been proof enough of this for me.
“Literal” interpretations of the Bible are bogus if you can’t read Torah Hebrew, or Septuagint and Koine Greek, and Aramaic…

He was there for that reason I think. But then my mom’s name was Turner. He did not destroy anything that day. All he did was debate older men. And they found him very astute. It was 20 years on when the incident with the money changers happened.

Except Carlson, Ingraham, and Hannity aren’t journalists, they’re mouth pieces. The fig leaf of Hannity going to border was just a show.
As for the Fox three, what is the difference between these three and Alex Jones?
I guess you could point the finger at Hayes, Maddow, and O’Donnell on MSNBC as the same, but I believe that in Hayes and Maddow’s cases they actually did reporting back in the day.

I love that image. Actually though, I’ve been wondering if it wasn’t the pressure from prominent R’s which everyone seems to be assuming, but that the media didn’t commit to showing up for his “press conference.” He wouldn’t do this kind of thing unless it was televised.
I think this may be what happened. Not even Fox News would commit to airing it, so he canceled. He’ll get at least some media exposure for the rally in AZ on the 15th.

There absolutely should be constraints & transparency but this simplistic prohibition reveals either opportunistic grandstanding or a horrible level of naivete on Ossoff’s part.
So anybody coming into office would have to liquidate their entire stock portfolio ? Not put it in a blind trust - but - cash out … and regardless of how long they have held the stock ? … and regardless of class of stock? And where should they place the proceeds? Can they buy land ? Gosh there’s no corruption & crookedness in land speculation… maybe in gold or silver… or commodities? …racehorses?
There is no simple solution !
And simplistic proposals like this are not helpful.

They will make some rule that they don’t have to pay capital gains on this mandatory sale and so will get big, tax-exempt profits AND get a new basis. They will love it.
