Putin has been testing our resolve for a very long time. Pootie Patootie prototyped his Russian-speaking nationalist enclave strategy in Georgia. We did nothing. This was followed by Crimea and now Ukraine. I hope we are able to take on this as aggressively as possible. Ukraine gave up its nuclear arsenal voluntarily at our request. We have an obligation to defend them.

Nobody is as stupid as Trump. As to the âSoviet Mindsetâ, we can give it a rest, he is not proposing any of the policies that are distinctively soviet, Russian imperialism predates the Soviet Union by centuries. And yes most of what is now Ukraine and the Baltic States were part of Imperial Russia, and the peoples that refused to go along were wiped out. So you can take Putin out, but the paranoia of being encircled by the west will not go away.

We need a loud, national discussion on Fox and its commentators. I will go with alliteration on this. Disgusting, disgraceful, despicable, deplorable. They are doing Putinâs work for him here, right now, at this very second and have done so for years. We are worried about wolves in the wild and Fox is feeding them at the back door.

No we donât. Ukraine has to learn to get along with Russia, the same way Mexico has to get along with the US. And Georgia got whacked because they got cocky believing the West was going to defend them.

We have a national self-interest to help them defend themselves and, failing that, to support the democratic will of the Ukrainian people where it aligns with our own democratic interests. It would be idiotic to roll NATO tanks across the border.

We literally do. Security guarantees were given in return for them giving up their nukes. Russia violated their part of the agreement by invading, and the West is violating the rest by refusing to move in.
A few waves of NATO aircraft that are all sitting in Poland and the Baltics right now could wipe this whole invasion out in hours.

That word no doubt sent a shiver down the spines of every citizen of Poland, Slovakia, Moldova, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. The last time Moscow used that word, those countries spent decades as territorial satellites of Mother Russia.
Calling Zelensky a Nazi is hilarious, since he is a former comedian and the Nazis had no sense of humor. His major platform was taking power away from the Ukrainian oligarchs, and I guess in Putinâs world that is sufficient reason to invoke World War II. Still, it ends up trivializing the tremendous sacrifice of the Soviet soldiers of that era, doesnât it?
