They have gotten away with a lot by audaciously gaming the system and simple hubris. I am not sure if they have caught on to the tone is changing and our patience is wearing thin. When they completely break the civil order, they do not realize they are enabling the people they think they are fooling to play very differently.

Do not underestimate how dangerous this clown really is. He is proud of his beliefs and it is clear he, along with Bannon, are Trump’s puppeteers.

So they want to cause trauma to scientists like me? I’m not in government, but there are a lot of scientists like me doing good work for the American people, making our lives better and safer, and these assholes want to destroy all that and make the people saving us from all kinds of dangers into villains? It just shows who they really are, and their true intention of attacking and destroying our government…that’s about as anti-American as it gets.

Every statement is either a confession or a projection. Read Maddow’s PREQUEL. These folks have been trying to pull this off for a hundred years, and I fear they get a little closer (Lindbergh a 100 years ago, then Goldwater, then Nixon, then Reagan/Falwell, then Cheney/W, and now Trump) every try, seeing in each cycle the ONE part they forgot, which for the last 40 years has been the takeover of the judicial infrastructure, now installing 6 members of the Supreme Court, each of whom the Fed Society has dirt on, to get them to rule as needed, when appropriate. VRA, Dobbs, Chevron, and now Trump’s presidential immunity…ever closer to the ‘Kingdom’ of AmeriKKKa.

It just makes me want to wrap him up in a big warm blanket and rock him for a few hours, saying, ‘it’s all right, you don’t have to be scared anymore.’ Between him and Jason Miller, I’m sure they could fuel the entire Monster’s Inc powerplant with their nightmares of women, government employees, and immigrants.
Or perhaps we ship the two of them to one of those isolated dating islands… I wonder what their love child will look like? Probably like Christopher Guest’s character ‘Tyrone’ in the Princess Bride, but with less hair.

Gotta wonder.
Ideally, a villain senses that villainy will be repaid, one way or another, and tapers off his or her evil acts.
Even a person a cruel in his words as Vought could be expected to understand this principle. His safety depends on the safety of the society all around it. But there are no teachable moments that are timely. And that span from criminal malice to criminal deeds (whether chargeable or not) to the terrible things they provoke can basically make up the three acts of a tragedy.
This tragedy Vought is out to cause is so boring it will never be acted out, for thought, on a stage. If he gets a chance he will act it out on people. He may think he is Christian, but he sounds like he only intends to commit acts of evil. So – it’s up to the voters to keep him and his kind away from power, for society’s protection.
