Protests Over Death Of George Floyd Spread To Cities Around The Country | Talking Points Memo

I’ve had the same thought. We’ll just have to see if a regenerated fear of black people overrides economic discontent in Nov.
Rioting in Newark, NJ won many NJ votes for Geo Wallace in 1968.

It was probably one of theirs, just plainclothes and trying to get people to stop being so damned peaceful so his buddies could get their tear gas and rubber bullets on.

“… all the while, the oligarchs got 1/2 trillion dollars richer…”

I hope the Biden camp has enough sense to stuff this up Trump’s colon.

Exactly. This is a gift to Trump on silver platter. Now he can become the Law & Order president cracking down on hooligans and vandals.

Same concern as well. I don’t blame the protesters at all; what happened merits a very angry response. It’s awful that yet another police murder of an unarmed black man could play into the hands of the very forces that enable such atrocities.

I don’t think that’s quite correct. The RWNJs might be thinking they are there to help the cops, but I’m willing to bet that the large majority of cops not only don’t want them there, but are willing to arrest them and more. The RWNJs really aren’t there to help the cops. The RWNJs are there to either start or accelerate a race war. (The reason I say “accelerate” is because it could be argued that we already have an ongoing race war.) I know good cops. We’ve all seen evidence of bad cops. The one thing that good cops do NOT want to see is even more racist shitheads fanning flames.

That the president speaks provocatively in this situation but mirrors the likelihood that, as usual in these circumstances, provocateurs are sent in to create violence in order to generate a crack down. Long hot summer on the way.

I Just wish they took the riots to the Mall in Washington where the Pestilent, the Congress crittters and the Justices can see them up close.
