Trump: "executive privilege, executive privilege. Why is SDNYT so wrong?Sue?"

That’s it. SDNY is officially off the Giuliani and WH Christmas Card lists. President Trump definitely did not save Christmas for the likes of you.

Never thought I could say this but I can feel that noose tightening on Mr. Trump and his family and sycophants, Couldn’t happen to a nicer group of people.

“We’re not going to object” to sharing electronic and paper records obtained from Parnas with the impeachment inquiry, Assistant U.S. Attorney Douglas Zolkind said

You just know Bill Barr is frantically gaming a way to interfere in this affair without generating too much controversy or blowback from Dems.

He’s probably been ordered to do so.

Bill Barr can’t do shit to the NY State prosecutors. They don’t answer to him. He can fuck with the SNDY prosecutors, to a point, and if he gets desperate enough Trump can fire and replace the US Attourneys for the SDNY, but remember, there are NO PARDONS POSSIBLE for State Court Convictions/Crimes.

These aren’t NY State prosecutors. SDNY is the Southern District of New York, a Federal jurisdiction. They are subordinate to the A.G. of the U.S. They’re not prosecuting a State offense.

ETA: If there’s mention of Cy Vance, the Manhattan D.A., or Letitia James, the A.G. of the State of New York, it’s a State case, and Trump and Barr can’t interfere with it.

Never implied he could. SDNY is a Federal District Court. Why would Barr mess with a NY State court when it’s a Federal Court within his purview handing over docs to the impeachment committees?

Documents turned over to the Congress however, don’t really apply to those scenarios.

Yes, SDNY can and may turn over evidence to the State of New York, but to my knowledge, right now Guiliani’s buddies aren’t being investigated by the state, only by the Feds. I believe these guys didn’t even have their businesses in NY, they were in FL.

I wonder where Giuliani files a state income tax return. That could get interesting.

Not in FL, as we don’t have a state income tax.

“Parnas has already handed ‘audio and video recordings and photographs’ over to House investigators, ABC News reported last week, but Bondy said Monday that ‘we don’t have the lion share of these materials’ that were seized by prosecutors.”

White House reaction was swift.

Digging around, and I can’t find anything that places Giuliani anywhere other than NY. There’s also the question of his bar membership - he’s certainly a member of the NY Bar, though perhaps of others, as well.

ETA: I see some mention of a condo in FL, but nothing more than a fleeting mention. No indication of where his legal residence is. Of course, if he’s violated NY law, it doesn’t matter where he lives. “I’m from Idaho” is not an affirmative defense.
