White House officials might be considering a plan for President Trump to formally speak on issues related to race and national unity — an idea that has been met less-than-enthusiastically online.

You can feel the first pings of desperation in the WH. That statement he read last week saying that George Floyd was smiling down from heaven because of the jobs numbers… Someone’s in his ear telling him that he’s going to get zero votes from POC because of what’s going on and they’re starting to flail.
I think that he won’t do it. This was a trial balloon which Dumbshit Ben was instructed to float, and which is crashing like the Hindenburg. I don’t think it happens.

Note to self:
The only way Trump gives a speech on race that doesn’t offend half the world is if he reads it off a teleprompter. I’m sure everyone would love to hear him condemn racism in that surly monotone he uses when forced to read from the screen. Even then, once he starts reading you can actually see the pressure rising inside him, as his ego fights to free itself from those constraints. His stupidest, most intemperate comments often come immediately after a scripted remark.
