New national numbers from Public Policy Polling (D) show the disapproval rating of the congressional GOP is up five points from last month, a development pollsters connect with their opposition to the payroll tax cut extension over that time. Last month Americans approved of the job Republicans were doing in Congress 26 percent of the time, versus 62 percent who disapproved. That split is now 25 – 67.
