The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey told the Bergen Record newspaper it would need at least two months to comply with a Democratic lawmaker’s request for records about the lane closures on the George Washington Bridge that led to days of gridlock in Fort Lee, N.J. in September. Some Democrats have alleged the lane closures were related to a local mayor’s failure to endorse gov. Chris Christie’s (R) re-election bid.
