Secretary of State Mike Pompeo lamented Monday that he wasn’t in the room during the raid and killing of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Instead, he was taking yet another trip to Kansas, his adopted home state where many think he may launch a Senate run.
I suspect his real “regret” was that he didn’t get to take part in that pathetic, hastily staged photo op.
Yep. He had a previously scheduled photo op with (he hopes) his next employer – the people of Kansas.
That’s OK, Pompeo, I’m sure they can photoshop you into that totally natural and not at all staged Sit Room photo they released yesterday.
Well, Mike, if you were a little more focused on doing your fucking job, maybe you would have been in DC during the raid.
I know Kansas is a state, and you are the Secretary of State, but that’s not really what they mean.

He keeps going to Kansas so he can avoid answering questions of him in DC about his role in Ukraine. Then, he goes back to DC to avoid answering questions in Kansas about his role in Ukraine. Lots of avoidance going on with this guy. Doesn’t have trouble hooking up for Koch’s money though when he’s in Kansas.

I’m reading they really left Trump out of the loop, and if Pompeo wasn’t patched in either then I guess I’m wondering how the authorization worked to go ahead with this raid. We’re in a really bad place generally, no doubt about that.

During the raid pompeo was in Kansas, and trump was on the golf course. Sounds about right.

To be fair, no one in the WH or Cabinet has done the job they are supposed to do since Trump took office. Since there was little chance an ISIS leader was going to dig up dirt on Biden, the raid wasn’t part of the job that was dictated by his boss.
