Has any reputable source indicated that they were “fleeing the country”, as in bought the tickets the day before? They routinely travel on business, and that they were on the same flight does not suggest an attempt to hide.

They were scheduled to deliver documents and give depositions in the inquiry, and instead they were leaving the country. Seems the FBI and SDNY felt that was enough to pull the arrest trigger. Better safe than sorry.

My impression is that they had given congress the finger like everyone else and had not yet been subpoenaed. I’m not challenging the FBI’s rationale to perform the arrest, especially with a sealed indictment in hand, just the media’s use of “flee” when if they were reallying fleeing that was a pretty lame attempt.

No wonder why the Mooch has been quite critical of Trump in recent months and has urged and fundraised for primary opponents.
Jay Sekulow, a personal attorney for Trump, sought to distance his client from the arrests of Giuliani’s associates.
“As the indictment makes clear, neither the President nor the campaign were aware of these allegations,” Sekulow said in a statement.
