Philly DA Threatens To Charge Fed Law Enforcement If Trump Deploys ‘Fascist Playbook’ | Talking Points Memo

Philadelphia’s district attorney on Wednesday decried President Donald Trump’s threats to send federal agents into his city, saying that Trump’s “fluffy” rhetoric about occupying cities “comes out of the fascist playbook.”

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://talkingpointsmemo.com/?p=1321869

“We’re dealing with a shiny object that the president is waving around to distract from his outrageous failures in many other areas,” he said. “And to try to use his usual tactics of neo-fascist division, hate, and racism to improve his almost deceased campaign.”

It’s a pleasure to read the Philly DA put it right on the table.
No alternative facts here.

The word is “Proactive”
It’s UNLAWFUL!

Addendum:

AG Barr says the authorities going into U.S. cities as part of “Operation Legend” will be different than the type of officials policing protests in Portland.

He says they will be FBI, DEA, & ATF investigators.

Local leaders who are opposed to this move say it is unnecessary.

Hmmm…sending another kind of Trump’s Thugs to proactively kidnap and incite violence sounds like domestic terrorism dressed as militarization!

Operation Legend my ass…
Truth be told, it is…
Operation Legendary Trumpian Terrorism & Domination!

Based on the success bible photo op, (you know how well that turned out) Trump now wants to declare war on America’s streets. “American Carnage” coming soon to a place near you. He’d rather burn it down than do the work that is required of a president.

How do you suppose this is polling? I can’t imagine anyone but his absolute base would be in favor of it.

That’s exactly what we need. Action.

More local DA’s and State Attorneys need to follow the example of Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner, as should local and state police agencies. These Federal (Feral?) Goons are violating any number of laws. Lock 'em up and press charges, maybe that will give Trump, Wolf and company a reality lesson.

As soon as 1 person is arrested by anonymous stormtroopers, the city ought to confiscate all of the rental vans as evidence for kidnapping crime(s).
Let’s see who’s going to rent to them when 25 vehicles are being exhaustively examined for a week as crime scene evidence.

Trump, in the White House, decries “extreme politicians” who want to abolish the police. Without providing evidence, he blames the recent spike in murders and shootings in major cities on an effort to “shut down policing.”

Barr says there was a “terrible event” in Minneapolis, but then an “extreme” reaction, “and what we have seen then is a significant increase in violent crime in many cities. And this rise is a direct result of the attack on the police forces and the weakening of police forces.”

Amid a pandemic locking people down and stressing people out, high unemployment, rising overdoses, and racial-social tensions, there is no proof the recent rise in homicide is the “direct result” of activists calling for police reforms and budget cuts.

Choad Wolf needs to be arrested for organizing a kidnapping ring.

So refreshing to read a flat out, no-holds-barred statement telling the Donald how pathetic he is and how everyone knows the game he’s trying to play and recognizes him for the weak mess of oversized rags and orange paint that he really is.

I don’t know if mayors can rely on their police forces. Police union have been in contact with DHS.

I dunno, Hertz would probably love to be getting some loss-of-use fees right now! Still, I like the idea of taking away their wheels.
