Appreciate the running joke was that he came up with the number 57 from Heinz 57 varieties ad or logo.
Too true. They’re betting this race thing will have more legs than Dr Seuss or Mr/Ms Potato Head.
(note: I’m so old that when I see “CRT”, I think “cathode ray tube”. And, as a New Mexican, “BLM” still suggests “Bureau of Land Management”, which is a very big thing in this state.)
Right there with you but…kids these days…
Actually his mother did. In the movie, James Gregory (great character actor) was such a useless tool that he kept flubbing his lines. It was mommy (Angela Lansbury) who said, “Do you need a number?” And the camera closed in on the bottle of ketchup. We were meant to laugh at the stupidity and laziness, and be shocked at how they co-opted something so all American to take America down. I wish people could still be shocked today.
Austin’s “you gotta be kidding me” look in that pic is great.
They should be “on their own”…Why should the taxpayers be burdened with taking care of stupid people who think that they are smarter than everyone else because they are “informed” by watching Fauxnooz?
If they get suck and die, the world will be a better place.
The “you’re on your own” comment was mostly to alert the community that emergency services are being overwhelmed. That response times are not going to be what they have been.
Y’know I have a problem with social Darwinism, but I’m having less and less of one with the biological kind.
Rethugs don’t want any type of critical thinking in our education system.
Harvard has graduated some pretty big fools – including Mike Pompeo, from both the University and the Law School. (We could also include Baby-face Kushner, but never mind…)
Here’s a pretty good example of how Pompeo can’t construct a sentence, and couldn’t think his way out of a box. This was from one of his twitters:
If we teach that the founding of the United States of America was somehow flawed. It was corrupt. It was racist. That’s really dangerous. It strikes at the very foundations of our country.
Both Cotton and Pompeo are often described as being a little different than the average, stupid word salad producing rethuglicans – bounders, compared to the usual idiotic variety like MTG and Boebert, for example. (The usual people who make my brain hurt every time they say something.) But, clearly, I think Cotton and Pompeo are both stupid, and accomplished bounders.
Gee, is there something in this theory that hits the racism center in the overdeveloped lizard brain in some people?
Claiming CRT is being taught in schools is the new Catalyzing Racists Trope
Scary times! Stay safe.
I’m on the other side of the state, so I’m good. But the hospitals in Springfield-Joplin area are transferring some of their COVID patients up here. I hope we can keep the families away.
God, I just purely hate these motherfuckers.
Desperation strikes deep. They’ll say anything to gather their caucus of resentment.
When Pompeo spouted off about it, I wanted to ask him if he was taught about chattel slavery in school and that it took a Civil War to finally free those slaves 75 years after the Constitution was ratified. Did he learn that the Indigenous Natives were killed or made homeless and put on reservations under the incredibly colonial idea of American “Manifest Destiny”. CRT has been taught in our schools in some form for decades. R’s can’t handle the truth.
Perhaps it’s bit late in this but one thing should be said: the Military Academies are Universities. They prepare men and women for commissioned service by educating them and granting them degrees. They are not military training centers although they do require a heavy lean in those studies. You don’t graduate from West Point with a degree in Army. Engineer, Political Science…that kind of thing. Like most Universities they require classes in English, Social Sciences…and other liberal arts studies to produce well rounded graduates. Critical Race Theory would not be out of line in a University environment that teaches people of many races how to work together to achieve existential goals.
Gen Austin has nothing to do with the Academies. He doesn’t speak for them nor do they speak for him. The training he’s speaking of is that of active duty soldiers in mission critical preparedness. They don’t teach CRT in MOS training, the NCO Academy or the War College. That’s what Austin was speaking of.
Yes, and that means that the stupidity and selfishness of the RWNJs are once again negatively impacting the lives and safety of the rest of us. Time for them to be “on their own”.
