One of the greatest jazz singers of all time. And one of my all time favorites. She defied labels, putting her own spin on everything from jazz standards to pop tunes. Her version of the Monkees “Last Train to Clarksville” was unexpected, iconoclastic, and brilliant.

I think it may not be that she has unusual influence, but that Trump likes to rule by chaos. He likes to see in-fighting and friction among his minions because it encourages sycophancy. Everyone in the inner circle wants to be the last person to have his ear on whatever topic before he makes a decision.
When he wants to shake things up, he takes a call from Loomer and she gets her way on that particular day. The next day, it’s someone else. Rule by chaos.

I can’t re-find the poll up above that @ralph_vonholst posted…showing most every Dem wanted the Chump corruption train stopped and Affordability coming in quite a ways behind in 2nd place.
There is surely a needle there that needs threading. And campaigning (promising) is much different than legislating (delivering). And the slow actions of passing, then implementing legislation and waiting for the benefit to trickle out into the shires. Even if Dems did the greatest job ever of reversing a behemoth economy which has been gutted and gored and left-for-dead…it is likely to be slow and nearly imperceptible. Unless they go BIG on Single Payer Healthcare, for example. But otherwise, a slow process the public is not going to appreciate or patiently wait for change.
Ending the corruption (and the real trick…punishing the guilty) is something that can happen faster. But it is much more about Law Enforcement, and Executioner, and playing Very Hard Ball. Which Dems have folded at each and every time. And certainly the way they form their docket will be crucial. We can’t get buried and mired. Pass laws that lift the statute of limitations for certain crimes and pass laws that record everyone who was involved. Pass laws for full auditing of what happened and who stole what for clawback. Put in motion the things that would otherwise mire us in a PR sense (bottom-up prosecutions) and then publicly go after the top tier.
So at least two gigantic needles to thread. How to campaign and how to govern. The rage of the electorate against the corruption and shitshow circus, and the crushing economics on every voter’s mind.
