I was in NYC back in 2019, when measles was running rampant through the Hasidic neighborhoods. I mentioned my trip to my doctor, and she asked if I ever had measles. I assumed I did, but she said to get a blood test just to be sure. Turns out I never had measles. I went for my shot the next day. I told the tech to stick the needle in my smallpox scar.

The community kitchens, like this one photographed in December, have provided a vital lifeline for many
The freezing of US humanitarian assistance has forced the closure of almost 80% of the emergency food kitchens set up to help people left destitute by Sudan’s civil war, the BBC has learned.

Aid volunteers said the impact of President Donald Trump’s executive order halting contributions from the US government’s development organisation (USAID) for 90 days meant more than 1,100 communal kitchens had shut.

It is estimated that nearly two million people struggling to survive have been affected."

Has Elmo written up his required 5 bullet points yet?

Maybe its a new iteration of the Great Replacement conspiracy theory. So long as the replacement is done with a loyal nazi or apartheid apparatchik, disabilities really aren’t all that concerning. Take Greg Abbott for example. How has he managed to survive rightwing DEI considerations all this time in his position while being disabled?

This is the same as your employer sends payroll withholding to the IRS and state DOR.

A “Praetorian Guard” made up of ICE and other DoHS goons could do it. I suppose a mercenary “private army” could also be empowered. I’ve no idea of the legalities associated with giving mercenaries LE authority. Deputize them as US Marshals?

Johnson may just have given away the game. Elmo and his bois are creating back doors to scrape up data that they can use to make decisions or execute functions which MAGA Mike obviously doesn’t understand. That should have every Congressman’s hair on fire but they just sit there twiddling their thumbs.

Isn’t Unemployment state funded?
Has anyone made the point that all these Chump firings (notice how Felon works as a perfect foil for Chump? He has replaced him for most of the negative headlines and shorthand like DODGE)

anyways these Chump firings are shedding Federal payroll, and the Unemployment will come from the state, right? And with every Federal agency being slashed…any training, assistance, and safety net challenges will fall to the state.

ETA: I am not going to use their own handpicked nicknames for themselves, think I am going to go withDODGE.

I was self-employed for 30 years, now retired. I paid quarterly taxes directly to the IRS. If I had hired employees, I would have been responsible for remitting their payroll taxes (FICA and income withholding) to the IRS as well. It might be possible for a state to set up a system to collect all the federal taxes from individuals and employers and then remit them to the IRS but that system does not currently exist. Too bad the blue states aren’t set up like that but I don’t think we should expect to see that anytime soon.

Lucky you! Even a relatively mild case of measles is really awful. Good thing you mentioned it to your doctor.
