Pence Defends The RNC For Downplaying Jan. 6 As ‘Legitimate Political Discourse’

History has shown that it takes a very strong-willed and confident individual to, in special branch point moments, do what is right, and not what is easiest or best for their own personal advancement. Mr. Pence has repeatedly demonstrated that he is not among this list of true leaders. He didn’t disagree with Trump when he was his Vice President, and he hasn’t now. I get the impression that he feels the ends justifies the means. So are his current words really a surprise?

This guy would be a more lively candidate than Q-Tip.

Excepting Liz Cheney and Kinzinger and a couple of others, you couldn’t assemble an entire spine from the entire group of Republican elected officials.

The resolution did not specify who these so-called “ordinary citizens” were…

Too stupid to recognize it though. You can almost feel sorry for someone this clueless. Almost.

I guess the new tactic is to confuse people about who, exactly, is being “targeted” by the House committee. If they can confuse people with the definition of “legitimate political discourse” they can claim they are being victimized. This will allow them to claim that all “conservatives” are being targeted.

I saw a great metaphor for Pence’s political career in the Times today:

A burning ship carrying a thousand flaming Ferraris.

Simple. If Pence is going to run in 2024, he’ll need the RNC. It’s a straightforward message that to succeed in the GOP, one must embrace “the mob.”

He is trying to serve 2 Masters, which can never work.

He’s trying to thread a tiny needle that exists only in his own dim imagination. There is no needle. He keeps jamming the thread against an enormous brick wall. But he’s surrounded by a coterie of bootlickers and dimbulbs who say “Almost got it that time, Mr. Vice President! Once more will certainly do it!”

He’s a miracle of science. How does he manage to stand upright without a spine?

The ex-president dodged when asked about Cheney and Kinzinger, the Washington Post reports, pivoting to the subject of “cancel culture” on college campuses instead.

I see someone else covered that Pence was Vice-president.

I’ll also add that he dodged when asked about whether he planned to go on any hunting trips with Cheney.

It must absolutely suck to be a lickspittle.

I’m only surprised Pence hasn’t hung himself.

Trump has got some serious legal problems coming his way. If Pence had any sense, he would have waited until then before he uttered this sycophantic statement.

Well, I guess that like a temporary crown on a tooth, a temporary spine transplant only works for a short time before it falls apart.
