WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Donald J. Trump’s decision to talk to Bob Woodward demonstrates the downside of never having read a book in his entire life, experts say.
While millions of Americans were astonished that Trump would voluntarily speak at great length to an author famous for his takedowns of Presidents, experts believe that a total obliviousness to books and what is inside them might have played a pivotal role.
Davis Logsdon, a University of Minnesota professor who studies the psychology of people who have never read a book in their lives, said that such people might be overconfident about how they would be portrayed if a book were ever written about them.
“If you’ve never read a book in your life, you might be under the impression that all books are flattering,” he said. “You would have no idea that a book could portray you as a human dumpster fire.”
As for Trump, Logsdon said that the President would “definitely benefit” from reading a book someday, but added, “It’s a little late for that now.”

Pelosi is right.
And Trump did not “downplay the severity of the virus”. He lied, over and over and in many different ways about COVID. At the time I figured he was just only getting information from Fox News etc. and believing what he wanted to believe as usual. Turns out he flat out lied.
I’m really sick of supposedly neutralish sources repeatedly not calling a spade a spade. NPR leads off hourly news with “Trump blasts…” or “Biden blasts…” That isn’t news. Actual things that actually happened, or actual policies that are proposed etc. are news. What politicians actually say is news, not that they “blast” anyone. They used to report the horse race, not the real news with election campaigns. Now it’s Trumpified - who made what more extreme charge about the other one, or what new insulting nickname Trump made up today.

What really pisses me off is all these Trump supporters who in March were parroting Trump claiming the virus was minor, not as bad as the flue, would be over quickly and so on and so forth.
These same sycophants to include FOX news and many of my coworkers, are now thanking Trump for lying to them and putting their lives at risk.
The problem is Trump did not only put their lives at risk.

it would be better if he had done nothing. Instead he helped the virus infect many more people while he was trying to make himself look better. Mask shaming, packed rallies, forcing people to go back to unsafe work environments, herd immunity, Chinese hoax, and harmless little virus that would just go away soon were some of the ways he lied and misinformed people while he nurtured the virus into the worst outcome of any country in the world. If he had let CDC do their job we would be in much better shape. But no. Fat Donnie never likes the taste of soup until he pees in it.

I think at some point that Putin will give up on Trump and start trying to cut his losses by making nice with Joe. If that does happen, it is really all over.

Fox News outs CNN exec! Tucker Carlson has it out for Jeff Zucker.
And CNN has not been “nothing but hostile” to Trump. They’ve been as “bothsides” as any outlet.
In any case, it does look like Zucker was cozying up to Trump. Was even thinking about offering Trump a weekly show.

Trump is useful to Putin for as long as he’s dragging this country down. Putin’s contempt for Trump, who failed to deliver on sanctions, shows in the harassment our military gets from his. If that’s not a message I don’t know what is. Also the mischief they continue to engage in worldwide. I question whether he sees any chance to win Joe over, though. Joe’s a clear-eyed, psychologically healthy person, and no blandishments from Vladdy will mean much to him.
