On a call with her caucus on Sunday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) cited rapidly shifting public polls on impeachment and encouraged her members to adopt a “solemn tone” when discussing the issue.
Another week of Trump’s unhinged Tweets and even the uninterested masses are going to start hearing about it.

Much has been made of Pelosi’s reluctance to come around on impeachment, but her patience may bode well for the politics going forward, especially among swing voters.
Polling averages should be above 50% for impeachment before November. It might even hit 60% by then with the way Trump is acting now.
Hopefully after hearing, while in their home districts, from their constitutes some R’s will also start to do the right thing not the party line.

It turns out Speaker Pelosi is better at politics than Twitter is. Next time I think I know better than she does, I will try to maintain a sense of intellectual humility… maybe I am wrong. I think the world could use more such humility, not less.
