Pelosi Sets Late October Deadline For Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill | Talking Points Memo

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Saturday set a new deadline for the chamber to pass the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill, following moderates’ unsuccessful efforts to push for its passage last week amid ongoing negotiations on Democrats’ sweeping reconciliation package.

““Everybody’s frustrated, it’s part of being in government, being frustrated,” Biden told reporters …”

Yeah, we’ve got to remember government isn’t like a teevie drama, movie, or even a sitcom. It isn’t neat It isn’t clean. It doesn’t necessarily have a happy, or even satisfying ending. And it never actually ends.

Oh great, this means a month of hearing the Media Whores (even the international ones) tell us how divided Dems are, how moderates are the plucky heroes against Dem progressives Who Are Ruining Everything, and worst of all: four more weeks of Sinemanchin bullshit.

NPR finally said “conservative Democrats” instead of “moderates”.
At least there’s that.

Not to mention the frequent assertions that Democrats have lost YET AGAIN because of their divisions, and how It’s All Their Fault, yada yada. Joe Biden’s Presidency is Over. Kaput. Finis. While Smilin’ Mitch McConnell allows himself a small, mean grin.

Sinema had some words of encouragement and shared purpose, I see. How mavericky!

Not sure of the wisdom of imposing deadlines, but then I don’t have the political aucumen of the Speaker. Stay calm and carry on.

SNL had a little fun with the brouhaha over the two bills:

I’m kind of on the fence about the Biden impersonator.

That has a nice ring to it.

While absolutely true, it’s too long a sentence. Won’t fit on a bunker-stick or cable news chyron. They won’t get past “All Republicans are United”…

“Trumpism” that I can get behind.

Yeah Chris Christie is gloating that Biden’s presidency is dead and buried. Of course while Chump was smearing the latest lady to accuse him of rape (from the Presidential Podium) he didn’t say such things, or with-holding military aid to extort Ukraine, or when Chump was letting 100s of thousands die from the pandemic, or launching a coup. Back into the basket Christie!

I wonder who they think they’re tying to fool? Obviously, if the (conservatives) centrists were all that mad about passing all those lovely goodies for all the lovely jobs they’d be a lot more inspired to pass the reconciliation bill. A trillion here and there for the military? Where do we sign up. Oh, mom and pop? Sorry, all out of money here.

I feel like Harry Potter being locked under the stairs, while Dudley gets to luxuriate in his second bedroom killing aliens (the military budget pays for all that, you know).
