Pelosi is grabbing this with both hands and pulling…her political instincts remain pretty sharp, this is something that will piss off a broad swath of Americans, and give a tactile example of how Trump is bad at managing the nation. The additional part where they appear to be trying to cheat in the election is more icing…people not getting their letters or medication affects them directly, and nailing the responsibility for that to Trump and the Republicans is going to be very effective.
They are going to keep at this for the rest of the campaign, and if the mail remains screwed up all that time it’s going to pull the Republicans down even more than it appears they will be in November.

You are correct. It is anger combined with a feeling that things can get better. There are some World Class cynics on his site, but more people feel that things will get better in the Postal/DeJoy Crisis than, say, a week ago.

I posted this in another thread, but it applies here as well.
There’s no longer any guarantee that a ballot sent back by mail is going to be counted. We need to have a failsafe prepared in the likely event the mail is still not working properly by Election Day. Our last option left is to Vote Early if possible or on Election Day. But if there aren’t enough poll workers in each polling place, they’ll close the polling location and send people to another one which will cause long lines of frustrated voters. We need to have Millennials volunteer to be Poll Workers to ensure polling places aren’t closed and the workers will be the least likely to get sick and die if they have proper protection.
If you’re in a critical battleground state that needs polling workers, sign up if you’re healthy and young enough to avoid the biggest risk of death. Obviously, wear PPE such as a mask, but include extra things like goggles and Lysol air spray.
We can’t afford to let Trump and his cronies steal this election.

Right to vote, health care, housing, the daily mail delivery, the right to peacefully protest, the environment and so it goes. The stepwise dismantling of the basic infrastructure of our lives. And his Republican enablers look the other way, piss on us and tell us it just raining.

Fortunately, in my state, which is all mail-in, also places containers for all mail-in ballots next to all mailboxes so that voters can use and know that the ballots will go directly to the ballot-counting place.

They will get better eventually, I’m pretty sure, and Pelosi getting on top of it is definitely a boon. But I have no idea how quickly legislation can be passed to force DeJoy to comply. Or maybe he will be shamed into agreeing without legislation. But I don’t know. I don’t know when those boxes will come back and overtime approved again for postal workers, and I do think there may be a struggle.
