Am I the only one here who doesn’t like Harris? I thought that, except for her, all on the floated short list members were great. But Harris, not so much. There’s no accounting for taste (especially mine), I suppose. I joked in a comment to another article that Harris is merely 100,000,000 times better than Trump or Pence which makes her pretty bad. Oh well.

Though people tend to forget what a smarmy, lying fuck Pence can be. He repeatedly lied without batting an eye in the 2016 debate and acted like it was the most normal thing to do. If there is a debate, the moderator must hold Pence’s feet to the fire. I don’t think he’s ever allowed himself to be in a situation where the interviewer/moderator really tries to hold him to account for his nonsense.

I doubt that Kamala Harris would pass up an opportunity to call Pence a liar to his face—with a big smile on her own.

And she would have done her homework to have the deets on how and why it’s a lie.

You’re absolutely right, of course, but I suspect that Kamala and her team will have analyzed their opponent and prepared a strategy to deal with his lying without having to rely on the moderators. She’s been a prosecutor, she knows how to deal with lying and deception.

Of course, this time around, as opposed to 2016, people are not taken aback by the shameless lying, indeed now they basically expect it and many, even some Faux News folks, are willing to call it for what it is.

And with the previous run, everyone was dazzled by the fireworks of Clinton v. Trump, so no one really cared about Kaine v. Pence. This time around, I think Harris v. Pence would in many ways be the highlight. Everyone knows Trump’s antics and Biden is solid and reliable and Pence is still mayonnaise on a cotton swab. Harris brings new fire to the table that none of the others will.

Trump pitied his Democratic opponent during a Fox Sports Radio broadcast, suggesting that Biden had “roped himself into, you know, a certain group of people.”

Well, he’s right there. Biden roped himself a group of people who are proud, patriotic Americans. Unlike Manafort, Flynn, Kushner, and so many others in his Administration who obviously play for another team.

Wait…that’s not what he meant?

Won’t happen. Moderators want to be considered for future debates and town halls.

It’s been years since I looked at them, but don’t the debate rules prohibit the candidates addressing each other directly? Of course, the penalty for breaking the rules is … what? As reagan demonstrated with his “there you go again” remark.

If the GOP looks to be on the point of fracture with the remnants likely to be relegated to a regional party, would that make media more willing to take a stand against their inanities? If they aren’t going to be in the catbird seat for negotiating anything soon, they may find people are tired of having lies thrown in their faces ad nauseum.

"… Trump told Hannity late Tuesday. “But we will have it out here we have a great vice president named Mike Pence and he will take care of business just like he did the last time against a different candidate.”

Till you trumpdump Vice Jeebus QTip the week before self-anointing yourself at Gettysburg or Sturgis or Darlington Speedway-- replacing him with Vice Adulterer Nikki Haley.

Harris was a serious candidate for President who did quite well until she ran out of money. She was in just about the same position as Biden in the selection process before Obama selected him. She has all the objective qualifications to be Vice President. She is a gifted politician. She has run the second largest Attorney General office in America. She has served well in the Senate.

So when Tucker:Carlson said

that “no mainstream candidate” would ordinarily consider the California senator or several of the other Black women who Biden allies had said were being vetted for the role, claiming that “all of them would be disqualified without debate.”

We must assume he is referring to either her sex or her racial background. Which are you, Tucker, a misogynist, a racist, or both? Twirl your bow tie and give us an answer.

Shame on you Tucker for claiming that all other “mainstream candidates” are as misogynistic or racist as you.

The quiet, secret weapon that these two represent is the stark contrast they present to Trump and Pence. It is as much of an asset as their skill and experience provide them.

Trump has soiled himself so much that he can no longer distance himself from that comparison. He looks like a rusty, smoking junker held together with tape and bondo compared to their new model year offering.

If he was told “Kaine,” he would say, “Oh yeah, the guy who died recently.”

“Let’s recognize her not only as the first woman of color to be vice president, but the best possible person he could have chosen to proceed into this election and, of course, to win and serve the American people,”

Nancy on point yet again.
