Folks started going off the reservation yesterday-- that State announced a full recommendation that No US Citizen take a cruise, on a Sunday is huge. Fauci’s risky statements contradicting him were another.

Pelosi and Schemer are right, this is how the nation should work…and this administration will do nothing to support the average worker. Sure, they will throw billions at farmers (though the vast majority of that money went to big Ag), and at any other constituency that they thing Trump needs to win in November. But, places that are hard hit in liberal states? Poor women who end up having to stay home to take care of their kids? People who self-quarantine to avoid getting others ill? Nada…and since something like half of Americans can’t afford an unexpected $500 charge, that means a lot of people will see their economic situation reversed.
The stock market was down 2000 points just after opening today…oil is in free fall, as is the bond market. A real economic panic is setting in, and Trump is panicking on Twitter now. We probably are looking at a receding economy between now and the end of the year, if it happens odds are the Republicans are sunk. Imagine, the world being saved from them by a virus…

I was thinking this – tax cuts are for profits. Sure, you can arrange tax subsidies that will turn some losses into profits, but there needs to be an underyling business. This is more like everything idle, no money coming in.
And of course not only would paid sick leave be morally right, it would be an enormous boost for the economy, it would slow down the spread of the virus, and it would improve the bottom line for businesses that continue operating with a public face (because people buying from them would have fewer worries).

The reason why flu deaths are so low is due to a vaccine. He is a dumb ass. When I was an employee at a local school district, these shots were free to all employees. Flu shots and all other vaccines including one for Covid-19 should be free.
