if it gets rid of the dotard AND the tRump spawn, then, well, it’s a step in the right direction.
dotard won’t resign w/o some sort of pardon or immunity deal. He’ll drag this country through hell first.

Adam Schiff 45 minutes ago:
We have been informed by the whistleblower’s counsel that their client would like to speak to our committee and has requested guidance from the Acting DNI as to how to do so.
We‘re in touch with counsel and look forward to the whistleblower’s testimony as soon as this week.
For all the Grumpy McGrumperpants folks out there, I think it’s pretty damn wild where we are this Tuesday afternoon compared to where we were last Wednesday. From boring yep-he’s-still-polling-in-the-40s filler to “House staffers are typing up articles of impeachment as fast as their little typewriters will go”.
Mueller and his team was under the constant threat from the WH they would be fired if they acted too aggressively and he didn’t have the freedom to act as Ken Starr did. trumpp ordered McGahn to fire him and he wouldn’t. He did his work under that kind of pressure.
It’s on like

I hope Dems prevail as well. However I am not being cynical and disheartened. I am hoping someone thinks about what it takes to get critical information from a hostile witness. Dems need to hire great cross-examiners, people who have spent ages in the courtroom questioning hostile witnesses, not a bunch of people from big name firms who have more connections than days in court. Cross-examination is a skill that most attorneys do not have, no joke, and if you want to find someone who has the ability to cross-examine, you need to ask other trial attorneys, not news reporters (lol). Impeachment is a serious matter and Dems need to understand that they need the best, not people with resumes, people with the respect of the best trial attorneys. The Muller people can be put on background research and investigation where their skills can shine, but the people questioning witnesses need to be the best cross-examining trial attorneys we have.
He woke up fully rested and ready for his cookies and milk.
Mine left his position yesterday at COB (Sean Duffy). I have no one to contact and he wouldn’t have listened anyway.
Hear, hear. Pelosi has played this brilliantly and will likely continue to do so while the same posters complain every step of the way. A woman in power is threatening to more than Republicans.
And Mueller was going to indict the Pres.
I have routinely agreed with you and respect your background and knowledge of the process, but until I see him leave the building, suitcase in hand, I can’t believe in this.
"Formal Impeachment Inquiry", huh?

But for how long? He’s apparently implicated in all of this stupidity too.
We don’t know that Dems are incapable of doing any of what you propose they do. The public will be receptive because 45’s worn us out and, only my opinion, are going to listen as closely they can but will be ready to accept conclusions that’s he’s committed criminal acts including obstruction readily.
I hear what you’re saying, but isn’t that a bit like getting the verdict before the trial?
(And yes, the Senate is the actual trial, but you get the analogy I’m sure).
Plucky is a badass, but I can get you the pending court cases that either involve judicial or oversight.
Hmm, not a good past week for corrupt authoritarians. First Bibi effectively loses his election do-over, then Boris get unanimously rebuked by SCOTUK, and now Pelosi’s about to announce impeachment hearings against Trumpo. What next, Putin falls off a balcony? Bolsonaro gets “accidentally” shot by his thug police? Duterte found in a drug den smoking crack?
Of course, these good developments all happened in actual democracies.
How the heck do they get the whistle blower into some secure location without every reporter in the US staked out to try and figure out who it is. You know they’re all going to try.
Let’s just say Collins, Tillis, Gardner are also going to be listening very closely.
Exactly, because we live in the exact same media environment as 1974 and we’re not at all polarized even one bit!
Break out the martinis!
