PBS Joins NPR, Becomes Second Major News Org To Stop Using Twitter Over Musk Label

I’m unaware of anyone with the money that’s in the ballpark of Musk level personality disorders. I expect a rolling burning dumpster disaster until a suitable replacement is presented and a critical mass of users make a commitment to it.

Yeah, until the withdrawal symptoms kick in.

Wake me when he, cause everyone knows Elon = Twitter, labels Fox News as “essentially racist funded.” It would have the advantage of being accurate.

Musk is going to take a real financial hit if/when he sells Twitter. Hope he loses his fucking shirt and alienates tens of thousands of potential buyers. I was seriously considering a Tesla but no more.

The U.S. could do a confiscation on national security grounds - and it would be justifiable.

No

For such a smart guy, Elon Musk really is a moron. Bidding for Twitter on a lark and for revenge, never intending to buy it but signing a $44B contract which – SURPRISE! – the courts enforced, then grudgingly taking the wheel and driving it not only into a ditch but also off the cliff. That’s a genius level self-own, all right.

(I do love those automotive metaphors – thanks, Barack!)

Yes…it might be doable on the basis that the political misinformation that abounds on Twitter is a national security threat. It would be a nightmare to try to change the Twitter culture, I think, but if it were possible, some of the threats to our democracy would be greatly minimized.

Nope

An unified front might, but unless there’s an important reason to snatch it from the Saudis (misinfo is a no), nope.

N the price, yeesh.

SpaceX is government funded. Nuff said.

How long were Muskrat’s $8 verified accounts available before the first 100 fraudulent, spoof accounts appeared? Was it even an hour?

It should have been obvious to everyone from that moment forward, that nobody gets what they pay for on Twitter. Verified users don’t get the authentication they paid for. Advertisers don’t get the brand safety they paid for. But everyone who pays nothing, gets a vastly deeper cesspool of anonymous shitposting, than they could ever have imagined.

Nice business model ya got there!

TPM: I am tired of you using Twitter’s API to report on things that happen on Twitter. You can quote Twitter the same way you quote any other tech source, using the following punctuation: “"”

Anybody know if Musk gets more government funding than either NPR or the BBC?
