Patrick Acknowledges Democratic Field, Goes Ahead And Runs Anyway

I dunno. But “some people” in his circle think Patrick is Obama’s real heir, not Biden.

While I like Buttigieg, I also agree with you.

No candidate should get a pass

Nope.

Booker is now running and there are at least three moderates in this race.

Patrick is reportedly in, because there are a lot of fat cat Spankys and Alfalfas who are afraid of Elizabeth Warren.

For which candidate are the “Dem masses” pining? None that I can see. Each has a following, none has “Dem masses” just yet.

Say it with me, ‘there is no such thing as a perfect candidate’.

I’m a ‘meh’ about Patrick.

If he had jumped in earlier, then maybe, but he’s reportedly jumping in, because Wall Street is afraid of Warren and (to a lesser extent) Sanders.

Sooooo, meh.

I envy the Brits, who can and do get it all done and dusted in six weeks.

For the next cycle can we please, please, pass a law limiting the campaign period, including primaries, to less than a year? It doesn’t have to be a free speech issue, It can be done through financing and spending restrictions.

He was also a fan of Comey, Rahm Emanuel, and Tom Daschle.

“From Broke to Bain: The Deval Story.” Yeah, if we’re wondering who gave him the call, methinks it’s all about the benjamins, baby. And no, I don’t give Mayor Pete a pass for McKinsey–it is (or was) a common enough path for directionless Ivy-leaguers from the '90s on, true, but they don’t get to run for president as the voice of the people, no.

And Tim Geithner, and Larry Summers, and Arne Duncan, and …

In America, money is speech. And money has a stranglehold on American politics and government.

Whenever you hear somebody speak out against Warren’s Wealth Tax, just look at the size of their wealth or who is paying them to say it. That is all you need to know.

And this includes the multi-million dollar political pundits and for-profit big media. They know who butters their toast.

I thought that was implied since I was talking about the Democratic primary.

I’m meh about both men.

I’m not sure (ok, I’m lying) that Buttigieg is going to win down south (he isn’t), so I’m not worried about his background right now.

My problem with Patrick is that he should have avoided this hassle and just went fishing.

Booker ait making headway and neither is Harris, but Patrick, oh yeah, Patrick is the one to save the day. /s

This is really the Dem establishment panicking about Warren. They would truly rather have a Trump since their finances are all they care about.

Never assume.

My the Democratic billionaire class is scared to death of Warren and Sanders, especially Warren. It is hard to embrace change when you are doing just fine already.

But consider it from his perspective. There is very little to no downside for him. Its like a free trial run for President so you can see what works and doesn’t for down the road. He’ll make contacts, he’ll raise money, probably raise his name recognition slightly.

And what’s the worse that happens? He gets less than 1% in Iowa and drops out. That’s less than 3 months away.
