PA GOP Won’t Get The SCOTUS Intervention It Asked For Just Yet | Talking Points Memo

I hope Judge Sullivan find PMG DeJoy in contempt of his clear orders and has him placed in jail. If Barr won’t enforce it, then have Biden’s AG enforce it.

These people HAVE to have consequences for what they did these last 4yr. I mentioned it earlier but I SERIOUSLY believe that anybody who raised their hands for the family-separation policy should be tried for Crimes Against Humanity.

If the Senate ends up 50/50 does McConnell still control the Senate?

VP Harris does

No. If the Senate ends up 50:50, Kamala breaks the tie. That assumes of course that Gavin Newsome gets her replacement appointed in good order.

That’s great! Would she decide what bills come to the floor?

I’m sure he’ll be on it.

If procedural decisions are sent to vote than she does. There are all sorts of shenanigans that any certain senator (WV?)
could play here

Kentucky.

No. The Senate Majority Leader controls the agenda, by tradition.

Constitutionally, though, the VP is the President of the Senate, and should be able to control the agenda. I wondered why Biden didn’t seize control of the Senate when McConnell decided to go full-obstructionist mode. But Biden isn’t Trump, and he has a lot of respect for tradition and unwritten rules.

That depends partly on what Senate Democrats can do with the filibuster.

“Beer-boofing” should’ve fit in there somewhere, I just didn’t know where.

My understanding is if it is 50-50, Kamala Harris as VP is the tie-breaker. Moreover, given that de facto majority, the Dems get to pick the majority leader. My understanding…which may be flawed.

Really? Alito is gonna jump on this losing bandwagon?

He ain’t overly bright, that one.

Moreover, given that de facto majority, the Dems get to pick the majority leader.

That’s what I was getting at. Thanks. I hope you’re right. Never too early to start pumping money in to GA.

OK. I think I got it.

They must account for them, but there must not be a count of them, because counting them is not allowed, even if it’s not a loud count.

Actually, the Republicans asked him to stop the counting. He didn’t. They segregate, count, but can’t report.

But, but, but…it doesn’t affect provisional ballots!

I agree, but, shit, I’m still waiting for a single member of George W. Bush’s torture team to be brought to justice.

AG Josh Shapiro originally said the decision to segregate the ballots was tp prevent an attempt by Republicans to claim that the entire pool of mail-in ballots (2.5 million) were tainted and throw them out.
