OR House GOPers Call On State Rep To Resign Over ‘Operation Hall Pass’ Capitol Breach | Talking Points Memo

Every member of the Oregon House Republican caucus has called on their colleague, state Rep. Mike Nearman (R), to resign after video appeared to show him coaching a roomful of people on how to breach the state Capitol despite COVID-19 restrictions.

I’m guessing that he was not only aware of that but enjoyed doing it as well.
That he seems Hell bent on failing to protect his legal defense opens another set of questions entirely.

It really is surprising considering the current question about the Multnomah County GOP is whether the state GOP will be recognizing the openly thug-run faction or the other faction that was forced to meet out in the parking lot when they weren’t allowed in a meeting.

If the votes are there for expulsion, then just kick him out, don’t let the SOB resign.

Impeach him and, after conviction, vote to bar him from holding public office ever again.

Nearman is auditioning for Director of Homeland Security should Trump win in 2024.

A betrayal is a betrayal, he’s got to go! Not sure what oath he took, but no way in hell can his behavior be consistent with it! Go! Now!

Delusions of grandeur. Nearman will never be an answer to a Jeopardy question.

It’s Oregon. Skinhead Central. A jury of his peers will acquit him.

Marion county is chock full of government employees. All the skinheads in that county are in the Oregon State Prison. He’ll plead guilty.

How do we mass produce this event?

That’s why I say he’s going to plead guilty.

Every once in a while you have to take one for the team.

I’ve lived in Oregon a long time, long enough to remember when Oregon Republicans, on both the national and state level, were of the Mark Hatfield and Bob Packwood variety. Nearman is a perfect example of the extent to which the Republican Party has descended into anti-democratic lunacy in the space of a very few decades.

We lose sight of the fact it’s not just the GOP as a party that has descended into lunacy. It’s at minimum 1/3 of the citizenry that’s right there with them. Your friends, neighbors, relatives, doctors and teachers and car mechanics. They’re all around you.

He’s got the question wrong. It’s which legislator in Oregon chose to expose his colleagues not only to Covid but also to armed and angry cult members.

So what, if anything, did his colleagues do before the video surfaced?

Resign, my ass! Hang that motherfucker! They can borrow the scaffold that his friends the insurrectionists erected in DC on 1/6/21 in order to string up Mike Pence.

Now this is a situation which does call for a re-vote. State party sets a time and place and installs security and notifies all the relevant delegates to be there. Everything is then voted on.

The voters get who they voted for. After this takes place, the state party expels whomever on either side who can be proved to have participated in the shenanigans.
